Phone as router while using computer's internet?

Okay so here's my situation. I know that the TP2 can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot with the data connection from the mobile network provider. In my case, I have T-Mobile USA and on pre-paid (don't knock me for that...) and I can access T-Zones with that for free. However, I was wondering if I can do this crazy thing...

I know that if I connect to my PC and establish an ActiveSync connection between the two, the TP2 and the PC, I can use the PC's internet connection on my phone. I'm wondering if I can take it one step farther than that and make it so that while my phone is connected to my computer's internet, it is able to broadcast that internet connection through the Wi-Fi Router. I've tried looking through the settings for this and I can't seem to find it. Everything that is there involves me using the mobile network's internet as the data source for the Wi-Fi Router. Reason for me wanting to do this is because... Well... My DS can't connect to WPA2 connections and that is what my house is currently using. I want to use my phone as a secondary router that uses WEP security for the moments when I need to go on Wi-Fi with my DS. Any way to do this? Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Even if you use your cellphone to do that your connection will be ADHOC and not Inferstructure which I think the DS and many other game stations need.

Maybe once we get Froyo on the android port.

or do you mean using he cellphone internet to power a hardware router?

Oh darn... Anyway to make the DS believe it is an infrastructure conection instead?

It won't even see the connection...same with the PS3, PSP and etc...

But once we get a Froyo port on android I hear it has inferstructure...

You can always get a 2nd router and broadcast WPE..cheap routers only cost 10-20$

Hmm... Alright then... I'm pretty sure the developers are working on it right now. If they're not on vacation that is...

Okay the DS can use Ad-Hoc connections. Just tried it and the DS could connect to the TP2. All I need to know now is how to get the TP2 to broadcast the internet that is coming in through the PC.

How did you get it to connect to the TP2? I've tried before and the DS doesn't see the ad-hoc from the TP2 wifi router. I even tried the advanced setup on the DS and used the same network name and key and no dice. Would love to know how to make this work!

TIA!

Why can't you connect to wpa2 connection with your ds??? I have a ds and a dsi and both connect to my home network running wpa2. You have to use advanced connections to set it up.

Don't know if this help or not but you might want to take a look @ prog named wmwifirouter. It has a mode called "USB to wifi" which may serve yr need...

look over on xda.... there was one of their news flash articles about an app that could point connections every which way, i think your option would be bluetooth to wifi, not sure on the usb side of things....
