Try taking out the micoSD card or swapping it with another one. In some cases, a bad SD card can cause problems like that. Happened to me before on my TP1.
SInce you are on your second phone, I figured I'd look at something that could be common between both phones. Also, I have been having some problems with my TP2 whenever it is in its belt holster that has a magnetic flap. If I carry it in my pocket, no problem. In the holster, I get some freezups. Hope that helps some. David

i will post this here as well...guys i dont have this problem since i figured what the cause is, the phone goes into sod because it is busy reading from your micro sd, the main culpit is the htc music tab since it keeps scanning for songs everytime, speacially if you have a big card. the solution is to remove the htc music tab and to use another player that automatically generates a playlist i.e. pocket music. since i have done this the famous sod is gone so iadvise you guys to do the same
