The delay you're talking about during start-up is for those trying to boot Android. Android will not boot unless the CPU speed is at 528, so safe mode has to be enabled. You can boot with safe mode off and use whatever speed you choose. The phone boots soooo much faster at 806 I can tell you that for sure.

I always thought Sense slowed the device down. I've primarily used the "old school" Start screen (not even Titanium) just to have a bit more responsiveness. Now everything is much more "snappy". Best upgrade so far!
