Thank you for that explanation. Makes sense! (Thank'd)

Thanx especially to nayr1482 for the detailed installation instructions and the OC_Auto4.21 CAB. (Thank'd) Running successfully at 768 (and climbing... slowly!).

I always thought Sense slowed the device down. I've primarily used the "old school" Start screen (not even Titanium) just to have a bit more responsiveness. Now everything is much more "snappy". Best upgrade so far!

Re: Overclock TP2 in WM?

Well, I finally took the plung. I downloaded Version 4.2 and all I can say is HOLY SHIT.

I seriously NEVER realized how slow my phone was before, now it is blazing fast (Like a stolen Ferrari on fire). I have so far only taken it as far as 692 (well 691.2), but this is still so fast.

I tried to jump from 692 to 787 (or whatever the fastest option was), but it froze up as soon as it tried to make the jump (after the 50000ms delay).

So what is the trick to getting the Processor up over 692? Do I have to do tiny jumps (like hit each step one at a time)? Or was going from 692 to 787 (or whatever it was) just to much?

Maybe I should jump from 692 to like 74x then to 78x? Or what would you guys suggest? Also anyway we can get up to around the 850-900 mark? I read online about some [lucky] SOB that was clocked to almost a Gig (he was at like 978 or 987).

Thanks guys, this program is awesome, and is SO easy to get up and running (seriously took me all of like 15 seconds)

I dont belive as most that top speed depends mainly on the processor.
My initial limit was 710, with 730 unstable..
Then after changing roms 748 with 768 unstable..
Now I'm screaming at 768 solid by changing the "check Time" (polling) in the registry to 30.!
So if/wen NetRipper fixes this app, all users should see imrovement in speed.

Re: Overclock TP2 in WM?

Question... if the phone is stable at a set speed, is it safe/recommended to disable safe-mode? Also, with safe mode disabled, would the phone boot faster?

Your stable overclock speed is only good for wen the device is on.
When off, unit will auto-scale to stock speed and if you are not at the "safe-mode" speed your unit will crash.
for faster bootup, just go in registry to the "bootTime", and lower the time there.
In XDA thread it was not recomended because of some usesers getting SOD on startup.
Unless you soft-reset alot, I would leave that alone, but as you may have to hard-reset if you are stuck.
Edit: if using script cab then read page 33.
Looks like you can do this afterall..

not broken, just not finished.
Community work-arounds for SOD & app crash made it usable so far.
When he solves this there will be no need for the extra cab or script solutions.
