Thanks DAVE and THROWED.

I have been using the "Text" quck tab on the home screen from the beginning as well,
But, I would like to be able to text from "My Favorite People" and from "COntact Cards" as well.
Basically, HTC messaging in the stock ROM just plain sucks.

Yeah, I thought about that after I posted but rally have forgotten about it for texting. I use favs for making calls though.

I've found that once I open a new text window and just start typing the name, its pretty much just as quick.

I don't use contact cards so I didn't think about missing that feature.

I too would like to see what the new HTC messaging has to offer.

I was all about flashing ROM's on my TP but still haven't found one that I'm ready to flash on my new TP2 so I'm looking forward to "what may be coming this weekend" too.

Peace,

David

I just read all the posts in this thread just to completely appreciate the stupidity of tt c6.

You do realize that this IS NOT an official HTC website, correct? We are all here to help each other. Do NOT make demands, do NOT bump a thread 50 times. Common courtesy man. If you're not happy with your phone, WinMo, or HTC, sell your phone and buy an iPhone so other people can control what you can and cannot do with your phone.

I honestly read through the entire thread just now as well to see what the progress was, and I never got that impression with TT C6. He's been polite the entire time, and besides the endless thread bumping(which he eventually stopped) i saw no other issues. He seems like just another user who is looking for a solution to this issue.

On another note, I did try NRGZ28 HTC Messaging Client (All Sense 2.5 ROMs).cab but that client actually is so horrible, that it actually makes me want to kick kittens into a tree stump grinder. The point to this though is, the above cab IS able to completely change the HTC messaging client along with changing the links to everything that references HTC messaging. Unless is what I just linked too another skin for HTC Messaging?

I have personally tested more sms apps that I care to remember and have to say that I have yet to find anything that can even hope to compare to the user friendly and well designed Vito SMS-Chat. There's just flat out no competition out there for it what so ever in my opinion. There are even registry mods out to have sms-chat stand in as your devices default sms programing even for HTC Sence UI..........if you'll give me a minute I will be more than happy to share links for both the download and registry settings for anyone who may be interested. Idunno. That's my two cents I guess. It's just that I have been scrolling through this forum for a few minutes and it seems like every three threads or so there's another one complaining about the crappy choices once thought to be our only options. Well there ya go. Take it or leave it I guess. Hope this helps someone out.
i actually use vito for mass msg only. The problem I have with it is that every time I use the app it erases the registry edit to turn off sms notifications

Is there a way to simply make "Windows Mobile Messaging" the default screen for creating text messages so we can avoid the "HTC Messaging screen" all together?
