Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 Battery Life (Verizon)
Quote:
A quick update. I called Verizon last week, and the tech decided to replace my TP2 & the battery again, and I recieived both yesterday (Monday). They sent me a refurbished TP2 (With noticiable scratches on the back near the camera, that is only seen when the back is off), and a new HTC extended battery (Whoo Hoo, a free upgrade). So far, this seems to have fixed my problem. After heavy use (for me) setting up the TP2 Monday night, I still had 90% battery life by the time I got home (approx 1800 MDT) which is exactly 24 hours from when I took it off the charger. My original phone (after a purposeful shut off to manifest the problems), was dead this morning and had not been touched since 1800 MDT yesterday (on standby). The only caveat here now, is I don't know how much more battery life the extended battery provides, but I would imagine that given equal amounts of time, even the extended battery would show noticable drain if the standard battery had died. Any thoughts! Thanks! Rich S. |

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 Battery Life (Verizon)
I also have the Verizon Touch Pro 2 and I feel that my battery is very good. Normally it is well above 50 or 60% every night after moderate to heavy usage. And by that I mean talking on the phone for less than 20 minutes(who really talks on their phone these days), installing multiple cabs, using the internet for an hour or so, and probably sending 100-200 text messages. About an hour of messing around too. Just changing settings and messing around.
I first got my phone and it was running 6.1. I plugged it in without even turning it on and left it charging for over 24 hours. I turned the phone on, upgraded to 6.5 using the official rom from the website and left it charging another 24 hours or so. I then took it to the store and had it activated(my previous contract with Sprint didn't end until this time). Ever since then I have always kept it on all day. Every night I put it on the charger regardless of the charge level. I know that they say lithium ion batteries don't have the charge level thing where you have to charge it for so long to get the "true" level of the battery, but I think it still helps. My original touch pro had horrible battery life. It would be down to 40 or 50% after only being turned on for 4 or 5 hours with low usage. I think it was because I got the phone out of the box, charged it for less than 10 minutes, and then used it until the battery was almost dead. I guess what I'm trying to say from all of this is that you should charge your phone for at least 12 hours, if not 24 when you first get it. It couldn't hurt to try right? |

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 Battery Life (Verizon)
Buy another OEM battery, a usb battery charger that you can charge the phone and and an extra battery at the same time, low the backlight at 40 when using battery power. That's what I do on same Verizon TP2. Keep text for the whole morning, 4% power off.

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 Battery Life (Verizon)
The HTC Touch Pro 2 batteries are manufactured and designed specifically for the HTC Touch Pro 2 to provide accurate and reliable power. These batteries allow us to extend the battery life of our cell phone when used as a spare. Or , If our cell phones battery no longer holds as much charge, use the battery as a replacement. After all is only good when it has battery power. Please produce some more latest updates regarding the task.
