Re: have you USED android yet??
Ok.....I have a moment & a touch pro2 i'm truly a winmo fan but wanted to give the android system a shot as my girlfriend kept showing me features and i got interested.
I love the android market it's a million times better than winmo marketplace, tons of free apps on android not too many with winmo. Battery life blowed on the android (it's the same on every andorid device from what i've been told) I mean I couldnt even get through half a day w/o charging the phone. Honestly i think the tp1 battery life was better than the moment. Android is pretty much an os you have to put together it let's you do what you want, now that's good in one way but in other ways i expect certain things to be there coming from winmo like a task manager, audio booster or audio eq which you have to download. My take on Android is that once i got to learn it I loved it battery life killed it for me and i couldnt deal with that. I know they have a thing called rooting which is similar to us flashing roms. Just too many issues i read about when that is done, so for now i went back to my tp2 mm war rom. I can say there are alot of things i love about the os and once they get it all together, man it could be a BEAST!! I just hope microsoft got a glimpse of android before making wps7 or whatever it's called and went another notch up. Because if not it could very well be the DEATH OF WINDOWS MOBILE! |

To Noir if you have a nexus the thing you will need winmo for is actual winmo programs, Microsoft exchange (only because Google needs to fix theirs) word and PowerPoint, other then that you wont be missing anything |

You're wrong on your specs though. The screen is the same size, resolution is better on the Droid (with the same size screen- this means a sharper image). The main difference is the Nexus has more RAM, but the Droid has a keyboard and 15 gigs of internal storage (plus a MicroSD slot). There is a reason why Google asked Motorola to make the Nexus One (but Motorolla turned them down- although they are rumored to be making a Nexus 2 right now, and it has a keyboard). Here is a side by side comparison: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomp...=2200&id2=2011 Last edited by BlackDynamite; 02-26-2010 at 06:03 PM. |

I have not played with a Nexus One, I am only comparing the specs. And with 2 similarly spec'd devices, one has a keyboard and 15+ gos of onboard storage, the other does not, both devices are the same size and run the same OS, you have to go with the Droid there. And yes, the Droid DOES have internal storage plus a MicroSD slot. I posted a link in my post that you quoted. Click that link and you have the specs for both devioces, side by side. |
