I would like to disagree with that..the average consumer is not very good with math...so if they can get an iPhone for free - $100 and a WP7 phone costs 300$ with a cheaper plan. Most people would take the iPhone.

I'm almost positive M$M$ will drop their phone prices and start charging the same price range as Droid and iPhone. Hell the hd2 is the beginning, $149 for new and upgrade and only 449 full price, that's crazy cheap. You can only buy the cheapest iPhone at 99, the 3gs 16gb is 199 and the 32gb is 299. The $99 version isn't a 3gs, I know because my lil brother got one turn weekend, he will probably return it now that sprint will get supersonic soon.

I did not notice the HD2 price was that low but in that case iPhone still has the advantage since they are making commission off the at&t revenue..so if they wanted to they could easily give iPhones out for free...will windows phone be able to keep up with cheaper plans?

youre right, windows can't hang with that. iphone could honestly give those phones away for free and still make a huge profit.

Re: What do you think of Windows Phone 7?

It's funny how wrong you are. I already have a Zune....the Zune experience is excellent. It's only for media so that's the only reason you have to use it. All I have to do is plug in my phone, it'll suck down what I want from the Zune software. My contacts, texts, etc all sync to My Phone so when I login with my Live account, they'll all just appear on my phone as well.

Everything else from my TP2 doesn't/won't go to WP7 so no problem. Also, if you fill up your phone...delete some stuff from it. If people are so into hacking/modding/customizing their phones, surely they can do some simple tidying once in a while.

There's no reason to plug your phone into your computer anymore. That is entirely old fashioned like PalmOS and PocketPC. Embrace the future!

SPB is ugly and cluttered. I want simple and clean. I use Titanium right now but Metro is the perfect interface for me.

We'll see how you feel about that storage when you get a new phone and try to transfer all the stuff off your old phone, and your only means is by using a zune interface to "sync" it to your computer and then you have to get it to your new phone form there.

I would much rather just take out my storage card, and put it in my new phone, with the worse case scenario being I connect my new phone as a flash drive, and my old phone as a flash drive, and quickly transfer the files from one to the other.

I don't need some zune software telling me what I can and can't "sync" to and from my phone.

And if my storage card gets full, I want to have the option to buy a new storage card without buying a whole new phone.

thats funny, you start off by saying all you do is plug up your zune, then at the end you write "There's no reason to plug your phone into your computer anymore" am i missing something? Also deleting stuff isn't an option, at least for me.

Re: What do you think of Windows Phone 7?

Well, I'd plug it in for the first sync, just cause it's faster. After that, it'll sync over wifi when I plug my phone in.

Why can't you delete stuff? What do you have on your phone that takes up more than 8gigs can't you not have?

well my music itself has over 8gb on my sdcard, and it comes in handy because most of the music i decide i want to listen to is there. Lets say for instance i'm driving home and i feel like listening to the Dream, more then likely that album will be on my sdcard, with only 8gb total, i'm not going to be able to put as much music as i want, even the iphone 3gs only comes in 16gb or 32gb. I'm glad android doesn't force us to make that choice at the time of purchase and if i want more space all i have to do is pop in my sdcard. When i want to put something on a friends phone like an app that isn't in the marketplace or any type of document thats over 1mb, its simplier to pop out the sdcard rather then trying to send a 2mb email over 3g.

Re: What do you think of Windows Phone 7?

Ah...ok that makes sense then! So do you have a little case for a bunch of SD cards that you carry around with you? You must be pretty careful cause I'd imagine they'd be pretty easy to lose...

I don't use my phone for music as it is. What I'm planning on doing is keeping my Zune around filled up to the max and then just have a smaller selection on my phone. I don't need to have every album I own with my at all times, just stuff that's current or that I listen to a lot.

For the future, there's not going to be apps outside of the market and files will actually live/sync in the cloud so you could just fire up a browser to get stuff...

I hope I'm not coming across as a **** here, I just really want to understand people's usage to figure out why WP7 "is the worst thing ever!!!!!"...lol. Just as an example, I have yet to see someone's example of multi-tasking that is ACTUALLY multi-tasking and/or something that WP7 won't let you do...

The zune experience is nice true..but it is a music player..here we are talking about a phone...More and more people are relying on cellphones to do work, communicate or etc...it is your pc far away from home.

Not everyone uses their phone as a PC..but eventually they will...This is what innovation is...when the zune hd came out you expected more...not an old music player..and that is what microsoft is giving..something that is outdated.

Microsoft is not doing bad because their phones are like a PC..they are doing bad because they never supported their own product. Apple stood behind their product.

You may not think of it as much but imagine this, you are at an airport or in a cab and you need to send some important data from your home PC that is critical..Pocket PC to the rescue.

You are a student and you left your paper at home..you got an app to get it but wait you can't print it cause none of the collage computers have Zune..but don't worry their is that 1 pc that has it..oh wait thats iTunes their goes your chances of passing.

A friend emails you and they need some information really badly...that is why you got the internet..you pop in the internet and start research..then you found the info but you got no copy and paste...awwww

You got your info synced up with microsoft and then one day they loose the data ( http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...onal_data.html )..isn't that sad?

You are playing your game and you receive an email, you go to look at the email..its spam..no more game cause no multitasking...

must I continue?
