Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

Skyguy is correct.. and yes I'm sure if you use the sleep function on your device often as you should, then you wont run your battery down. But to clock up a cpu requires more current. More cycles per second.. you don't get something from nothing.

And I suppose you can also floor the gas pedal in your car without having any negative effects on fuel mileage. :~B

And BTW, perhaps this should be brought over to the OC thread so it's not hijacking the WP7 thread here.

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

My battery on my TP2 lasts as long as it did on stock rom when I did not overclock it. Now I am running 748Mhz and no noticeable battery drain.

OC has no effect on battery life.

But does it make the battery hotter Eric?

What sleep function are you talking about here?
And what do you mean it stays like this all the time?

If you say it uses more current as well as stays like that all the time then it would drain battery quicker.

I am surprised that you find no affect on battery life...

Yes, OC will make it run hotter.

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

Even iwfratz himself said there should be no affect on battery life or AC output. As for the battery running hotter, I still need more answers.

The way I understand it, the cpu in our TP2 is shipped clocked at 528mhz to ensure maximum stability and longevity. The thing is, some cpus can be clocked much faster and still run stable and still last a long time. When you overclock you are changing the frequency not changing the voltage so you shouldn't be using any more battery. The main thing that will be affected is stability but you will find out very quickly how high you can OC and still retain stability.

Yes, the voltage stays the same but my mind thinks that the current would go up a little as more instructions are being processed and I would think more instructions would increase the current. But it may be that it is so slight that it is not noticed, or that I am simply totally wrong.

Yeah, I should get off my duff and OC it. Which one do you recommend?

I was so bored yesterday that I put CHT2 on and then tried V3 of the win7 waves theme, but backed that off. Sitting with CHT2 at the moment - that's what I like about this tp2 - so easy to play!!!

Thanks.
