Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

Thanks Austin,

I was reading today that there was not going to be an upgrade option for the HD2 but it didn't say anything about the TP2, that's why I asked.

Nope, no upgrade to WP7 for TP2 since device doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements.

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

I'm sure WM7 will be cool and all, but I'll be perfectly happy with my TP2 dual booting Android and 6.5.3. I haven't even begun the real customizing yet as it just works so damned well already! If you are a technophile who just HAS to have WM7, then its time to upgrade.

Personally I am looking forward to the next 1+ years w/my TP2. After that WM7 will be properly patched and working great, and my upgrade will be ready, then we'll see about some newer more powerful devices.

If you are itching for a project and have a TP2. Get Android on there and help the devs test stuff out! We still need sound up in here!

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

I feel a little better knowing the phone I got less than 2 months ago doesn't need to be thrown away next week ^^ I'm bummed if the next windows won't be really customizable. What's the feeling on that... do people think it still will be, just a little trickier than tapping a cab file? Or is it truly possible for it to be locked down totally and the OS will never improve?

I saw they started putting out custom droid x roms, is the droid pretty customizable? If windows 7 can't be tweaked fully maybe that's a good place to jump ship. I may install this dual boot thing, sounds cool.

edit: actually I just read this - http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/24/h...e-7-after-all/ ...that's good, sense can be pretty thoroughly customized to look pretty pimp.

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

yes...install android. i use android about half the time now.

i am getting very good results using the following procedure.

task29-mightrom official-android RAR install (not cab)

copy a shortcut to the little android link to your start menu.

boots to android faster than wm after the initial setup.

Re: Windows Phone 7 on Touch Pro 2?

i dont think it has the capability to run WM7... However the HD2 runs Wm6.5 and you can actually run 7 as well.. im not sure based on this if itll be the same case..
