Custom ROM's

I've been through Stock ROM, Stock with Mobile Shell (with several MS tweak/custom packages), Mighty ROM (including his 'project' ROMs), 7PPC ROM and now EnergyLeo. I personally would recommend the EnergyLeo ROM as the best balance of pretty, function, stability, all that. I had more built in features on the 7PPC ROM, but I really had to reset every couple of days, and never got past a few minor annoyances. If that's what I had to live with forever, I'd be fine, but there's another couple of dozen ROM's I haven't tried yet. I didn't think MightyROMs were as stable as everyone else says they are. Stock was very dated and boring. SPB Mobile Shell was good, but I didn't find that things stayed where I put them. There was also lots of eye candy (functionality) that I had no use for. My 2 cents.

tried to install mobile shell 3.5.3, but when i would try to use the facebook app, it kept freezing on me. so i uninstalled that, and went back to 3.5.0. spent the last 2 nights at work resetting it up. just backed up everything with sprite backup. gonna stick with this set up for now. memory usage at 48-49% with about 100k of free ram. if it freezes this time i will just run the backup utility.
i haven't had any problems with mobile shell and gt4l's cleanup cab. pretty sure he uses mobile shell too, so i don't know why you would. 3d email works for me. you might want to revert to a previous version of mobile shell. from their message boards 3.5.3 and 3.5.2 have problems with too much info coming through active sync (among other issues).
thanks for the input too. decided a custom rom just wasn't worth it right now. my phone is zipping along and i don't have to worry about this not working or that not working.

I had the facebook app problem, and figured a work around. Sometimes when you restart, it loses it's settings. So when you log into the fb app, it takes you to a login, then that doesnt work and forwards you to the m.facebook.com login, but has parameters for the application. BOOKMARK that login, and use it to log into the facebook app. It's a work around, and not that troublesome if you dont restart much. Havent restarted for a while here. Do not use the built in fb login, it crashes 3.5.3 for me, so I just use the opera link and go back to find it auto login.

yeah, but i uninstalled 3.5.3 and went back to 3.5.0 (i think, might be 1) and it immediately pulled up my facebook without me having to login. even though I had uninstalled 3.5 previously.
I don't know. seems there are always some annoyances. i don't have problems with 3.5 so i see a need to update it.
