Re: Calendar appointments off 1 hr. -- this is absolutely driving me to drink!
I cannot believe this bullshit. Microsoft
![]() All of my all-day appointments are one day early now. They won't fix themselves when I sync with Outlook.

I ran into a similar issue because I travel between TX and NY (central and eastern time zones) often and didn’t have my time zones strait between my computer, outlook, and phone. If I made appointments with outlook set to EST and then displayed them in CST they were an hour off and all-day appointments would display a day early because they would start 11pm on the previous day instead of 12am on the correct day. After doing all of the following, there was some weirdness that didn’t fix itself until a hard reset and re-sync from scratch. Confirm the following if you haven’t already. - On your PC double click you clock then -> time zones -> make sure zone is set to central (GMT-6) and adjust for DST is checked. - In outlook go to Tools -> Options -> Calendar options -> time zone -> make sure zone is set to central (GMT-6) and adjust for DST is checked. - On phone make sure zone is set to central (GMT-6) and adjust for DST is checked. - Install the MS patch in this thread If everything looks correct on your PC but is still messed up on your phone, it may be one of the many faults of active sync. I would recommend deleting all of your appointments from your phone and re-syncing from scratch but I am not sure how to do this safely without active sync doing something stupid like deleting all of your appointments in outlook. You could try this (at your own risk): - Disconnect phone from PC - Confirm all of time zones are correct per above - backup your phone using PIMbackup - use PIMbackup to delete all of the items that are synced with outlook. Click options -> delete all -> appointments, tasks, contacts,… where applicable (i.e. I don’t sync my contacts with outlook). - Then in active sync go to file -> delete mobile device to break the association with your phone so the stuff you deleted doesn’t get deleted from outlook also. - Then re-sync from scratch the way you did when you first got your phone.

eyeouthere,
Thanks for the tips. I already had checked DST settings and time zones, everything was great there. I'm doing a hard-reset anyways tomorrow, so I'll see if everything syncs back properly from Exchange. I'll let you know how it goes. @Microsoft - I'm fairly certain Christmas is not on 12/24, but thanks for trying. |

Well is 3/14 for me. and all my hourly appointment starting today are 1 hour late. all my 9am's are showing up at 10am. I've installed MS patch.. tried changing the from GMT-6 to GMT and back. Tried everything in this thread. unless in my frustration I skipped a step. nothing works for me.. except of course to set a TZ at GMT-7.... |

One this that appears to work. Not sure i like it, since its a work around.
while in the "clock & settings" instead of using GMT-6 for Central US, I use GMT-6 Central America. Then everything is accurate for the appointments and the time is correct. Perhaps they dont use DST in Central america. |

Re: Calendar appointments off 1 hr. -- this is absolutely driving me to drink!
I know this is a little old now but I wanted to make sure the fix stuck before I posted. I had the issue with my phone and I was running a tp2 on Verizon with the stock 6.1. Since I was thinking about checking the upgrade to 6.5 and waiting for dst to come didn't fix things I thought I would give that a try. For whatever reason updating to the Verizon 6.5 update has all my appointments matching correctly with the exchange server now and after several program installs, soft resets and a week of using it in several states its still good.
I figured this may be interesting to the more knowledgeable users here since some were saying this was caused by an outlook service pack bug. Not sure how an update to the phone would fix that but there it is. Hope this helps! p- |

Thank you SO much for your post! I didn't upgrade from my Touch Pro to a Touch Pro 2 until Fall, 2010, and I didn't have any problems with the calendar until the change in daylight savings time this spring (2011). As soon as the time change occurred, all of my appointments were 1 hour late (and this impacted more than 300 appointments!) I spent more than an hour on the phone with someone at Sprint Tech Support who told me he had never heard of the problem before, and his suggestions (rebooting, removing battery and rebooting, turning synch on and off, etc.) didn't help. He then suggested I manually change all of the appointment times, but I didn't consider that an option, especially since he couldn't guarantee I wouldn't have the same problem in the fall, when the next DST change takes place. Installing the DST patch I found online later didn't work for me either, and I've been inputting all future appointments an hour late, with the correct time typed in next to the title of each appointment. As soon as I tried your suggestion, and changed my zone from the correct US zone to Lima/Bogotoa GMT-5, everything synched up perfectly. All old and new appointments are showing the right time. ![]() Blessings to you and this forum -- I am VERY grateful for this simple workaround! ![]() |
