Re: HTC Wifi Router
It should not be. I cant guarantee you, but most people have not seen any charges from it. It is "hidden".

Re: HTC Wifi Router
If you are running a custom rom then more than likely its disabled. If its a stock rom, make sure you run one of the cab files floating around that disables the monitoring.
The only thing you have to make sure of in the HTC wifi app is that the connection type is on "Sprint" and not on "Phone as Modem" or anything like that. Always use the "Sprint" setting |

Re: HTC Wifi Router
I was wondering something similar. I have the following:
I knowingly installed: HTC Wifi Router ICSInstall (don't even know what this is) Tethering Stealth Mode These I see when I look through my Programs list. I'm not sure which I installed and which are stock, if any: IntShrUI Internet Sharing Wifi Router (the same as HTC Wifi Router above?) Is this enough to tether without detection? On a simliar but unrelated note, on my TP1 I had "CommManager Suite with WifiSharing", which put the tethering option on the same screen with bluetooth, wireless, airplane mode, etc. But when I try to install it on the TP2, it says installation was not successful (doesn't say why). I have the same problem trying to install "OpnMarket" cab. ***UPDATE*** Okay, somehow I got the CommManager Suite cab to install. Now I have Wifi Sharing on the screen/tab with all the other communication options. I went to look through my programs, and I also now have CM Blue Wiz, CM Wifi Wiz, and most importantly CM Wifi Share. When I click on CM Wifi Share the name in the router is "AssasssinsLament" with a 1-0 WEP key. I close that, click on the Wifi Router icon that I originally had, and get the same info. I re-install HTC Wifi Sharing, and then instead of "AssassinsLament" in the router name, it says "Wifi Sharing" (same WEP key). What I want to know is are these programs the same thing, or is one different/better than the other? And most importantly, can tethering be detected on either one?
