Phone screen soft keypad is being weird

Hi guys,

When I'm at the phone screen with the soft number keypad active, if I press * twice in a row, it automatically turns it into a "P." That's weird, right?

If this doesn't make sense, pretend you're about to punch in a phone number to call someone, but instead, just hit the star key (*) two times in a row (fast, kinda like a double click). Does your phone show two stars, as in ** ? Or does is turn into the letter "P"? If I do a triple click on the *, it turns it into a "W." So if I just sit there and hit the * key repeatedly, it'll alternate between *, P, and W over and over.

This is a problem for me because when I call my office phone to check voicemail, the system requires me to immediately hit * twice to access our personal mailboxes. If I try to do this from the soft keypad, the voicemail system is not recognizing my input as **, because the phone is automatically turning the ** into a "P." The only way I have around this is to use the QWERTY keyboard to hit "FN" and "8-8" to get the **. It's a serious pain in the ass, esp when I want to check my voicemail while driving.
