Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?
Umm.. jailbreaking ISNT flashing a totally different rom.. its opening the rom you HAVE to be able to add apps for free since I dont pay for them. That was the main reason I did it. Regardless, IMO there isnt anything I cant do that I need to do with this phone.

only way to save HTC Tp2 is to put android on it... or a beautiful phone will be lost in the Wm insanity. Is it that difficult for microsoft... Can they not just hold an iphone and see what they are missing.. than trying to pass us a ton of garbage on a gr8! phone.... Phone should be easy to use not to bang your head to UNDERSTAND how it works... Wm... RIP! |

Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?
I seriously doubt WM will vanish unless they somehow horribly fumble with WM7. I mean, did Windows go down after Vista? Has the Zune died? No, they came out with Windows 7 and the Zune HD. Xbox360 is doing pretty well, too. All indications are that Microsoft has finally woken up and sees that they can't just kick back and enjoy the monopoly anymore.
And I think everyone is getting the numbers wrong, too. At least in the US, WM only recently was surpassed by iPhone. So it dropped from #2 to #3, with RIM at the top. That means more Wm than Android or Palm. If there's anyone in jeopardy here it's Palm, as some think they're in trouble. http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/17/c...he-first-time/ http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=12391 |

Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?
I have had my phone for 3 months.. why did i get this WinMo phone..? because of the keyboard.. the apps that Apple has appeal to me only to an extent, but i'm a business phone user, e-mail and viewing PDF.. don't need anything else. But DAMN it's slow and laggy sometimes
Note: i don't have the experience a lot of you do with other phones. It was all about the keyboard fo rme |

I love mine and contrary to what people have said, the original stock ROM was solid out of the box. I have been pretty much running Mike's ROMs exclusively and I have very few complaints. I use this for school and business and I could not ask for a better phone/computer. The iphone to me is not functional as a business device. It is a media device first and a phone second. I hate touch screens for typing.

Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?
WM phones are capable of doing many things well that an iPhone can't, and there are many things the iPhone does much better then WM phones. You can argue all day long about which is better, but in the end it is which one fits a person's needs the best that wins.
Each does some things very well. While they do serve an overlapping market, they really are pointed at different user needs. Dave Last edited by Paragon; 01-26-2010 at 11:14 AM. |

Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?
Nexus One on other carriers?
Walmart greeters will soon welcome you to a Nexus One with Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T 3G? What you can see under "Network Technology" is that the handset supports the 3G frequencies of AT&T (850/1900 MHz) as well as SprintĀ“s and VerizonĀ“s (1xEV-DO). http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/26/w...ne-with-sprin/ http://walmart.letstalk.com/product/...ne#description If all of this DOES happen, WM definitely stands a chance of going down even more so. Time will tell if this thing pops up on every carrier. Last edited by quickstang; 01-26-2010 at 12:09 PM. |
