Slingbox

I use slingmobile for viewing on my HTC Touch Pro 2. Recently SLINGMOBILE updated on my phone and now I am unable to connect to my slingmobile. I contacted sling tech support only to be told the HTC Touch Pro 2 is not a supported device and could not get any technical support from them. When I purchased the Pro2 it was in the list of supported devices. My slingmobile was working fine until it did the update. Tech support was unable to give me the download for the old version of slingmobile that worked on my phone. DOES ANYONE HAVE THE OLD VERSION OF SLINGMOBILE FOR THE HTC TOUCH PRO 2 so I can get my slingmobile back in ? HELP PLEASE!!!

Re: Slingbox

I have an older version, but I don't think that will fix your problem.

I had the same thing happen about six months ago, I had to run through the setup wizard again & check my port forwarding setting in the router setup.

Re: Slingbox

so you think the problem is with my router. I did mention to them that my slingbox goes through a router but the offered no support for that issue. I currently use a D-Link router. Maybe I will give them a call to see if that will fix my problem with not being able to connect. I can connect on my desktop and my laptop, but not on the HTC Touch Pro 2. Thanks for the tip....I'll try it.

Wirelessly posted (touch pro 2: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

try enabling internet viewing on the slingbox again also make sure your finder id is correct

Re: Slingbox

Thanks so much for the tip on the router. That was the problem. I only needed to configure my slingbox for internet viewing. Since I had just installed the new router, the setup wizard took me through the setup for internet viewing and I was able to connect to my HTC Touch Pro 2 without any difficulty. Thanks again for your help......I really appreciate it.

Thumbs up Re: Slingbox

Thanks, I will.....what frustrated me more than anything is the fact that the tech knew what the problem was when he looked at my setup from his location (malaysia or somewhere in that vicinity), but would not tell me how to fix the problem until I paid the OTO charge of $29.95.....and I refused to pay.....I explained to him that I was connected through a router, but it was just to simple for him to tell me to check to see if I had set up the slingbox for remote viewing after reinstalling the new software for the router. Honestly, now looking back over the situation, I don't think I even needed a new router. I think I just needed to go back through the setup process for the slingbox and setup the remote viewing portion of the installation. Anyway, alls well that ends well.....hats off to 'ya
