Re: How to make windows start menu and Programs Tab coexist?

Aww...I tried to be helpful.

Still hoping there is a way to re-key the start button to open the Program tab instead of the Start Menu....

You will need to install a program called Rhodium Keyboard Controller
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240

After installation, you will find a new item in the "Settings->System" section called "Keyboard Config". Then you can redefine "Home" Button's behavior. Mine is "Click"->Run Programs-> "\Windows\manila.exe"., Parameter ->"--switchtopage Manila://programs.page". I also defined the Double Click to home tab and long press to old style start quick menu.

Hope this helps.

I'm content with the Stock WM6.1 ROM on Verizon, but would like to be able to add Folders to the TF3D Start Menu system, and not just Programs. That would work just fine for me, so if your edits will allow me to do that, then bring it on!
I guess what you want is still different from what I have now. My program tabs (you get when you slide the taskbar or press Home key) still only have shortcuts to programs not folders. However, when I press start on top, then click "Programs", I got old style programs (not the 1-column one built in) folder. I can create folders and move programs around using ActiveSync method mentioned in another post in this thread. Then I use SK Shortcut Manaer to change the folder icons to WM 6.5 style. (The default folder icons are too plain). So still the Programs Tab does not reflect what you have in old style style menu. They are basically separate.

Anyway, the registry hack is to go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->HTC->EnlargeMenu->EnableManilaStartMenu->0
HEKY_CUREENT_USER->Software->HTC->Manila->EnableSTartMenu->0
HEKY_CUREENT_USER->Software->HTC->Manila->Manila://Programs.page.hidden->0

Yep, that was it! I wasn't sure what you meant by "parameter"...it says "arguments" on my phone but I typed it in anyway. Now the start hard key goes to the Programs tab, and I still have my drop down Quick menu option. Thanks!

No problem! Glad that I helped. Now I changed back to 6.5 again. Still missed 6.5 a lot. LOL.

What several of us want to do is to keep the TF3D User Interface, but have the ability to add Folderes as one or more of the 10x3 array of Icons that the TF3D Start Menu provides. As it is now, there doesn't seem to be the ability to add Folders, only Shortcuts to Programs.

For example, when I look at the Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder now, there is a Folder for "Games" but that doesn't appear in the 10x3 Array of the TF3D Start Menu, nor does it appear as a choice when I remove one of those, and want to replace it with something different.

Thanks for the reply, though.

I think this tread will help you.

I used it on my TP1 to create a folder shortcut in my start menu which went to a physical folder in my programs list from the old TP.

I am about to attempt to create a link again, which I can add to the Programs list which will make a shortcut to a folder containing Games, and All Programs, in the old style. I liked to be able to organize my files into folders.

I will let you know how it turns out.
