Try THIS THREAD, which let's Opera show in the task manager, where you can close it.

Re: Verizon 6.5 Upgrade Tweaks?

I had been waiting for an official VZW 6.5 before flashing custom... **very unhappy** with it, and will now be going custom.

Re: Verizon 6.5 Upgrade Tweaks?

Are you having problems with the phone freezing. With apps not starting up? Or is it you just don't like to see a big number? The proxy puts basic app data into memory to make applications and tasks faster to start up.

If you ARE having memory related issues I would suggest going to www.xda-developers.com and searching their threads for cleanRam version 1.9.

Thanks, but those are the registry tweaks I was talking about that I already did. And like I said, they worked beautifully in 6.1, not so much in 6.5.

A little from column A, a little from column B. I'd prefer the number to stay below 60% when I'm not running any apps (as I mentioned, it begins after a soft reset at around 46%). When it hits the mid 70's it starts to get sluggish, and when it goes above 80 then I start to have problems with apps not starting.

Thanks for the tip about cleanRam. I'm downloading it now.

Clean ram can only do so much. We really need to find a permanent way to disable the resproxy.

Both of these (No Push Internet and Proxy Hack) work fine on my VZW 6.5 TP2.
I run about 50%

So I'm noticing. I used it on level 2, and I dropped from 66% in use to 60% in use. Since then, all I've done is update the weather, and I just checked it. It's back up to 66%.

Brent, just curious to see if you have gone back and checked the proxy hack value to see if it's still set to zero. A lot of people have found the default value gets re-written. If yours is sticking to "0", did you do anything to get it to stick?

Thanks!

Er... what is the reg path and I will be more than happy to check and report my results.

I have not done anything special. All I know is if I reboot the phone and give it a good 3-4 minutes to make sure the weather is downloading, etc... then check my usage I usually at 53%

I can live with that.. better that 70 or 80 something.
