Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!

Thoughts on the installed update:

1) Yes, it does appear to be snappier (measurably faster, 20-30%) _ONCE IT'S LOADED_! It does take longer to boot. On average it takes almost exactly twice as long to boot.

2) Installation took just shy of 4 minutes (3:53 by my non-scientific reconning. I was using the HTC cable...anyone else actually time theirs and use some other USB cable?) I sincerely doubt that the cable matters unless someone was stuck at USB 1.1 but you never know for sure unless you ask.

3) GPS is working fine for me so far with both Google and Bing. I did have to sync (of course) but my average satellite count in Google is 7.

4) Initial memory utilization was 65% after soft boot (immediately after flash) but dropped to 50% after hard boot (long hang up press).

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!

So far I've noticed a few "features" (alright, bugs) One, the clock, when displayed on the taskbar is NOT in sync with the clock displayed on the home screen or in the clock setup.

Two, even with the today screen timeout unchecked, opera closes and the today screen is displayed after leaving it overnight.

Three, Weather on the today screen and in the weather panel is not updating automatically.

Contrary to some posts, though, the GPS works just fine.

For those of you who saved your opera6.adr file and wish to copy it back so you have your old bookmarks, I found that I had to do a soft reset and then copy the file back into the folder before launching opera for the first time. Even if you close opera it maintains some sort of copy which overwrites the new opera6.adr file when it is relaunched. Just soft reset and copy the file immediately before launching opera and you should be fine.

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!

Has anyone tried to enter new cities in the weather city database? I've tried to use weather_city_editor_manilla_2.1_2.5.exe butI get an error (SQLite error; no such table:countries). I also tried to copy the 2330fc3c_manilla file (that has the extra cities I want) to /windows, and was able to select my cities, but then I kept getting download errors when I updated the weather????

Talking Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!

Ok guys, it may not be ideal but I got a transparent slider working. I've posted over in another thread:

I'm not allowed to post links yet but it's thread 1477103.

Basically it's using Chuckz07's Transparent Mode9 fix and one file from his 6.1 manila files. I haven't cab'ed up everything because it isn't my work. I'll PM Chuck later if he doesn't respond on the thread at some point but I posted the files you need on the other thread and here as well.

In short, install the Mode9 fix and then extract 1e29e8e7_manila from the attached cab (or just get the manila file that I've already extracted for you lazy people )and copy it to your \Windows directory (do NOT install the cab, your icons will get all funky). Either reboot or stop and restart TouchFlo.

HTH

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!

How do you perform a hard reset with the Verizon TP2 after the upgrade? I read a couple of posts on other sites, but none worked.
