If you click on the *ahem* in the post you quoted it links you. It was posted by a moderator on a microsoft forum, which is about as official as three dollar bill. I still can't post links but replace the DOT with a dot

Did you notice what BDC2 said, even people in the UK realize that the idiot on Sprint is a git. And Sprint wandered why I left them 9 years ago.

Hopefully M$ will have the fix soon, either that or I have to relearn assembly and try and fix it myself.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

As I was given a regedit, I knew old 2016 messages would take priority in TouchFlo and didn't want to delete them.

I came up with the SKTOOLS backup- find/replace - delete - restore fix and listed ZIGGY's cab as a fix (to avoid explaining regedits to complicate things)

Foolishly, I joined SprintUsers - and STUPIDLY fell for the fauxZiggy donation link, in trying to show some appreciation... and even after communicating with him here, did so in error. (Mind you, I didn't even get a thank you email)

I was going to raise a stink, but I believe PayPal furnished my friend's contact email and address which was used to 'donate' - and rather than him getting harrassed, I just let the issue go.

I was had. My intent was to show some minor 'cup-of-coffee' appreciation for Ziggy's workaround for threading fix. I learned my lesson. For now, I'll leave it at buying a pint if our paths cross.

Anyway Ziggy, thanks for your continued work.

I'm still confused if I did something wrong, as while the 2 most recent days show today & tomorrow, I'm not seeing a date stamp. After testing 6.5 Roms on TP1, I forget if time stamps are standard. Is there a regedit for that.

For all others still having old PREEXISTING 2016 messages taking priority, Ziggy's PIMBACKUP will help (or if you have SKTOOLS, mine should do the same)

Credit where due - and I'm glad to be able to contribute an alternative to salvaging old messages. Stunning that this has yet to be fixed.

I'm sttill curious if MyPhone type backup sitatuations are wreaking havoc with synching.

SYH,
If you're ever in the DC area, I'll take you up on the offer of a good pint. lol

I'm not sure, but I'll take a look, mine has always just said Today/Yesterday, at least since I started paying attention 1 Jan.

And thanks to you, I tried SKTools, didn't care for it much, but I tried it anyway, I'll stick with SPB Backup of just messages and contacts for now, or PIMBackup to fix them.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

A hotfix cab is listed on the HTC site,

http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-...int/downloads/

Is this the same as Ziggys? or Is it a something else?

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

This is an official fix. There is also one available for the Touch Pro 2, however, since I'm no longer an actual Sprint Employee, I can't download it from their Phone Support forums. I'm assuming it will go up on the HTC site soon, as well as the Sprint support site.

There will probably not be a hotfix for TP2. After reading the instuctions on diamonds it says this will be needed to be applied every time you do a hard reset. Seeing that sprint TP2 upgrade hasn't been posted yet, I think it will just be included with the 6.5 rom upgrade. So we won't have to install it on every hard reset.

Once we have a compatible RILPHONE for the TP2, it will work. I just tried just putting the RILPHONE.dll and the settings onto my TP2, doesn't work. But there is a file called CorrectSMSDate.exe that will fix all your SMS dates for you. You guys can extract it yourselves, or let me know if you want me to post it.

If we have to wait for the WM 6.5 update Sprint users are screwed....
