Re: Who plans to go HD2?

Nobody is looking at it from Microsoft's point of view. Microsoft is a business and a business that's around to make $. IPhone number 1 selling phone ever. Android most rapidly growing OS, Microsoft wants a piece of the action. Yeah they will lose a lot of ppcgeeks due to open source but they will win back a lot of customers that will take advantage of windows mobile 7 and windows desktop 7 plus zune music integration. If you walk into a mall and you stop 30 people, more then likely none of them or maybe one will have a winmo phone, everbody else will have a blackberry, iphone, android, or regular phone, windows wants a piece of that, is that so bad. This is a good direction for them. Once they get backing from developers then I will come back, but that probably wont be for awhile. There will always be a way to get an app to work on your phone. For instance they tried to block wifi tethering, all you have to do is root and you have wifi tethering.

Well my TP2 is coming from Asurion on Monday (coming from TP1), and I already have plans to move to the htc supersonic in March.

Sounds like even the HD2 cant stop lagging. Wow. Go winmo, see how many people choose the nexus over the HD2. Its a better phone guys. and with the recent rumors of Winmo 7, Id switch now.

That thread definitely proves dragon, brownhornet, and myself are correct. Don't waste your money buying a hd2. The nexus one and android are the truth. Do the T-Mobile coverage map and if you get good service get a nexus. it will be one of your happiest days.

So after hearing the rumors you guys are telling people to jump ship? The thread had an HD2 running 6.5.....I think anyone that is considering buying the HD2 in the US is only buying it for 7, not 6.5. And 7 is made from the ground up, so please dont say all the same problems will exist, because no one knows that as a fact.

So off the rumors, you guys are telling everyone to jump ship. Rumors? That does not sound smart or well reasoned at all. Especially when all we have to do is wait one week to see the interface of WM7 and lay all the rumors to rest.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

Maybe I am really lucky, but I haven't expereinced the messaging lag on my TP2 using the custom ROMs that I have. That is not to say that the phone doesn't lag at all, but to be honest, I haven't found a phone that doesn't from time to time. I have a Palm Pre, iPhone 3g, TP2, and my wife has a Samsung Moment. They ALL show performance lag from time to time, so does my Sony Vaio and so does my iMAC at work.

So now people are buying the hd2 only for winmo 7, so what have we been arguing about, in case you don't remember it wasn't about winmo 7 it was about 6.5. See how fast they are to flip the script.

Dude....by the time the HD2 comes out in the States (prolly around what...March-ish?)...WM7 will come out in the same year. I dont think anyone wants to buy a 6.5 phone knowing they wont be able to upgrade to WM7. That's what makes the HD2 so interesting. (Its pretty much common sense.)

The exception might the the TP2 but honestly I don't know many people buying it as a straight up upgrade. You look all over the Touch Pro forums...people are getting the TP2 for free....and that's the sole reason I'm listing the TP2 as an exception.

As far as comparing.....SMS lag was never even brought up. All everyone has seen is you guys shove your opinions and claim them as "facts" all over this thread. But if you want to go there, that's fine. There's many fixes for the SMS lag.

Want to know something you can't fix so easily without Google rolling out an update? Your spotty 3g coverage for the Nexus 1!

I could keep going... but I'm just tired of laughing at some of these sites. Some say the G1 has better 3g than the N1

I was talking to some guy at sprint and he said that winmo sucks balls because all they've been doing is patching the original OS that was released in 1998. He said that winmo 7 is the first OS that has been built from the ground up and it should be really good. I'd go with android either way though since that's whats hot right now.
That's a quote from someone on xda thats saying basically the SAME thing ive been saying all along.

So you're bringing up the fact that some people were having spotty 3g coverage then they came up with a software update that fixed the problem, I don't see your point at all.

You guys are clowns, you're trying to write no one would buy a winmo phone without a winmo 7 upgrade, you need to go read the last 10 pages or so of this thread, it wasnt about winmo 7, the whole argument was about winmo 6.5. So it seems like you were also agreeing with what i was saying the whole time.
