Who plans to go HD2?

That won't be true. That's like taking the legs from a horse. Microsoft would never take such a retarded risk, and if they do, it will obviously be for some kind of "Standard" edition of WM7, not the "professional" edition which most, if not all HTC products will utilize.

Then the Touch Pro 2 will be my last Winmo 7 phone. I'm still not interested in the Nexus One without a keyboard, but when a keyboard version of it is released it will probbaly be my next phone. Motorola is supposedly making a Nexus 2 with a keyboard, so that could be it.

Of course, if it turns out to be false, then I'll probably stick with winmo. but that report says no multitasking, can only install apps from the marketplace (no more cabs), no more 3rd party user interfaces like TouchFlo or Mobile Shell, and using the zune software to sync. If that is true, forget about it. I'll go Android for sure.

Right now, we use cooked ROM's to use the latest and newest builds of windows. Before you know it, we'll be pushing for custom ROM's to be taking our WinMo7 phones back to WinMo 6.5! WM6.5 runs beautifully on the HD2 anyway, so I can see a lot of people sticking with the antiquated OS if WM7 is indeed crippled like this article explains.

I think everyone is forgetting the fact that WM is supposed to come in 3 editions.
Business, Standard, and Entertainment.

I dont think these rumors are true, but if they were to be, I would assume they would be for the entertainment edition or the standard edition.

As far as the NETCF, I'm sure there is a way to port the 6.5 NETCF to 7 and enable backwards compatibility that way.

Keep in mind that these are most likely rumors until it is unveiled in MWC

From what I recall, the HD2 will be exclusive to T-Mobile. No sense in holding out for it to come to Verizon anytime soon.

plus, i'm not sure i believe the latest rumor. a lot of it is stuff that's always been speculated and the other stuff just sounds strange. mobiletechworld claims to have received the same tip from someone completely anonymous... where's the credibility in an anonymous tip? that would explain why there's no reference to the reliability of the source on the breaking news here...
