Anyone Using Seven for Push Email?

I was using Seven beta for push email for a while until I noticed I randomly had charges for international text messages (19 sent text messages to the UK). I have not sent any international text message so I called sprint. They said they can see the charges, but can't see when the texts were sent so they removed the charges. I then removed Seven, and since then, I haven't had any charges for international text messages. Anyone else notice this?

I don't know if it was Seven, but ever since I removed that app, the charges stopped.

Re: Anyone Using Seven for Push Email?

I have been using it for email as well.

I read once that it sends a text message back to report whenever the app. crashes or so. I have seen the charges well on my account as well.

As of lately it hasn't even working for me, but that is a different issue.

Re: Anyone Using Seven for Push Email?

I've been just researching this today. Check out this thread on xda-developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593036
Haven't tried it yet, but sounds promising...

If you are using Sprint (ONLY FOR SPRINT), you can download Sprint Mobile Email which gives you true push email (for Gmail as well). This is a free service from Sprint (never been charged). You can only set up one account with it though. Works perfectly with the TP2.

EDIT: This is a re-branded version of Seven from Sprint. No international texts. SMS-based pushes, which means no connection is kept open, and no checking every X minutes.

After the first reboot, the setup window might hide behind the main HTC Sense interface. Make sure you complete the setup and registration by looking for the Mobile Email setup program in the task manager (this is only after the 1st reboot).

After rebooting, did you setup your Gmail account from the wizard that pops up? It may hide as HTC Sense will cover it up, but you can open it by seeing the running programs in the task manager. I tried different roms, and in all of them never had any issues getting gmail pushed. Btw, this is just a re-branded version of Seven (but no international texts, and sms-based push which is great).

I am a new Sprint TP2 owner (previously had a Touch and Touch Pro). I have used Sprint Mobile Email with all of my previous phones with no problems. I have a Google Apps email account that is set up to check other email accounts that I use. When I tried setting up SME on my TP2 I have yet to be able to get the push email option turned on. Each time I go into the settings (Mobile Email Settings -> Update Preferences -> Enable Push) and check Push Email, I get the following error:

Error S7123: A server operation caused an error. If the problem persists contact suppot.

I am using a custom rom (NagROM v1.03) so I'm not sure if it is related to that. I may try flashing the stock rom and see if that works. I know from searching that not may people use this, but the benefit of SMS triggered push email makes this a very appealing option. Also Google Sync has issues with some emails that I receive from my bank that other methods (including this one) do not.

I just wanted to see if anyone has had similar experiences or suggestions...
