Re: Native HTC messaging MMS fix (collaboration)

Another observation:
I see that the UAProf is also under the following key in the registry:
-HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/InternetSettings

I checked it against the OEM Sprint ROM and noticed that any and all placed the UAProf key is, it is set as http://device.sprintpcs.com/HTC/PPCT7380SP/1216513.rdf

I am wondering if this may also be a key of interest as we know that Arcsoft used "The Internet" to connect and send MMS.

Here is a screen cap from the OEM Sprint ROM:

And here is one from the Juicy R5 test ROM:

Actually, the letter part to HTC or Sprint is not such a bad idea, I'm an 11 year subscriber of Sprint and will be more than glad to sign such letter.
LOL, I'm sure they would forward it to HTC, you know "passing the ball' or 'punting'.
BUT, the thrill and satisfaction of cracking this problem open is what keeps us working on it.
I'd test any suggestion, and have an extensive line of codes written to perform on my own phone.
I'll report back soon with the results.
So far I'm at the UAProfile= and UserAgent Part.
It's making some sense, because the phone id changes when we custom-flash our roms.

Re: Native HTC messaging MMS fix (collaboration)

I checked my "Send" log this morning and opened in in a text editor and kept noticing this line

No. of Bytes to Send: 274432
Send Erorr Value: 10035

So i began looking more into the 10035 error message, and it seems to be some type of socket error. Dealing with the buffer being full, and i have seen some examples where that error was caused when the socket connection timed out. Could this be the case, that the socket to the MMS server is closing before the entire message is sent?

Just a shot in the dark, i really really want MMS to work.

Re: Native HTC messaging MMS fix (collaboration)

I'm hoping Ziggy comes up with the fix so I can steal his work, go onto the sprint forums, create a screen name TheREALZiggy and claim I found the solution

Re: Native HTC messaging MMS fix (collaboration)

Is this a dead thread now? Seems like a lot of Sprint users are bailing out on 2.5.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, been a very busy week.

I do have a Hero, trans. my number to it to use it. I will be digging through it this weekend. Can't see anything obvoius yet. Sprint locked out the MMS settings so it cannot be changed thru UI. Rooted it and running a copy of Fresh1.1 which still kepps the HTC Messaging so I can look at settings.

I should have an update by the end of the day.
