Re: Getting really pissed about battery life
Err - I'm using S2U2, 15 minute emails from 8am - 10pm and 30 minute emails from 10pm - 8am and I get atleast 36, usually 48-50 hours out of a charge. I usually send about 50 SMS/day, as well as reading books (Acrobat Reader - which I leave open) during the day, periodically - plus some other random usage. I'm not entirely sure it is S2U2. I don't have the 1% battery driver, though.

Re: Getting really pissed about battery life
I have been getting inconsistent battery life, especially when I ride local Rapid Transit to work. What I usually notice is that it sometime (about 90% of time) drain battery like crazy after in and out of tunnel and underground a few time. That got me to think, maybe the phone is scanning for signal.
Looking around the phone I notice that while it is in global mode, it will search both the CDMA and GSM for signal which leads me to guess it might be scanning for CDMA then GSM, then CDMA and somehow get into a loop. I can even feel the battery gets hot and it would be dead in 2-3 hours from a fresh charge. Turning off the global mode and set it to CDMA only has greatly improved my battery and have not had the drain problem since. setting -> phone network mode -> network tab -> change to CDMA only and see if that helps. |
