Earpiece Volume On Mogul... Can you make it louder???

Ok so know I have two files on my Moguls Window folder the original AudioPara.csv, and the new AudioPara.csv downloaded. Am I supposed to delete the the original AudioPara.csv in my Windows folder? I'm didn't notice any changes.

I get the feeling you don't quite understand how this works so I'll start from scratch for you...

1. In your Mogul's Windows folder you have a file called AudioPara.csv
2. Copy/Paste this file on your PC and rename it AudioPara_Original.csv
3. Download AudioPara.csv_coarse_ear_extended_speaker.txt and rename it AudioPara.csv
4. Copy/Paste the new AudioPara.csv file you just renamed to your Mogul's Windows folder.
5. Congratulations, you now have a louder Mogul.

No file name has changed and even if Sprint updates the AudioPara.csv file and this update doesn't improve anything, simply recopy the file you just renamed back to your Mogul.

A fundamental basics of computing is that you cannot have two files with the same name and extension in the same folder. This is not your fault Jspecrx7, Microsoft is to blame for essentially dumbing down computing by hiding file extensions from people and many other ridiculous defaults.

Try this Google search and you will understand those two AudioPara files your Windows folder do not have the same file extension.

No kidding! It makes me furious how bad the speaker is. I was going crazy thinking it was just my phone, but it is a problem. I sure hope I find a fix or this phone is going back.

what is total commander. I went to options> view all files and folder so I was able to find the windows folder. I am just unable to move that file.

Try this to make the volume louder... simple registry hack and you don' t need to install anything as long as you have a registry editor.

This will work for WM6 (courtesy of SprintMogul.net)

Increasing Speaker Volume

Try increasing the value in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone/"Vol"

I cranked it up to 95000 (original value is 65535 and that increase the volume substantially, I don't know what it will max out at or how it will effect battery power (I don't even care, as long as the volume is louder).

I installed the coarse settings. Definately makes the speaker and earpiece volume louder. However, the music player and ringtone is still the same volume. I can't seem to find a thread regarding this, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I have the Alltel version and I could not get this to work at all, kept getting permission errors and other errors. I have a mac and was using missingsync and file explorer on the phone. I downloaded total commander and worked with no problem, phone is very load now, I used the coarse with the earpiece file, I am home watching football, dryer is running, and a 6 and 3 y/o playing and I put the volume to 1 and it seemed louder than the highest setting before! Great work! Thanks for finding and sharing from pda forums!

hey how come i set this and it keeps resetting itself back to the default setting?

any tips on avoiding that?
