The hack makes a small difference but not enough. Nowhere near the volume levels of VolumeCare currently. At least a little extra is better than nothing. Too bad the BT volume still sucks.

yes, just overwrite the file in windows directory and it will work

hippity.hoppity how about before you rip the fix you read the thread i posted. if you had done that you would know that the only thing adjusted is the earpeice volume. you could manually edit the file and adjust other device volumes, but i bet youd rather get a treo and volumecare.

i was curious as to how people were dropping off the .txt attatchment. I'm working in Vista and cant seem to figure out how to drop the extension than opening in Excel and then saving as a CSV file...

Just copying it to my storage card, cutting then pasting into the windows folder isn't working...gives an error "cannot copy, access denied, be certain there is enough storage memory, that the destination is not write protected, and that the file is currently not in use...so I have no idea how you guys are getting this to work...through activesync or on the device itself...

wow. to rename the file, either change your folder settings to show known file extensions or go to dos.

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

C:\>ren AudioPara.csv_coarse_ear_extended_speaker.txt AudioPara.csv

C:\>

dont use the builtin file explorer. open total commander, find the one you copied over, move it to \windows, and say yes to overwrite.

is there anyway to answer the phone with the speakerphone automatically activated when the device is locked?

If i want to use the speakerphone i usually have to hit the answer button, then hit unlock, then hit speakerphone...

i heard if i set a device password this takes care of it and i can just hit speaker phone?

mods can we keep this about the 6800 not the treo? its getting annoying now, this OP is really helping us with all the work hes doing on this project. enough is enough taking away from what hes done and the treo already, theres a treo dedicated forum
Um, English please. For those who are having a hard time with their comprehension skills, the point about trying a Treo with VC is to see just how much of a difference can be made between stock volume levels and maximum levels. All of these same moronic warnings about blown speakers were being thrown around by the dcd's of the Treo world when VC was released and no speakers have ever failed.

Sorry, just read through this thread and the one dcd posted... I haven't tried the fix yet, but it seems like it'd address the issues people are having with the volume on their Moguls... plan on playing with this tomorrow, probably.

As for the Treo w/VC comments posted, I don't see how they're at all applicable in this thread...... the question is how to adjust and/or compensate for low volumes on the MOGUL. I don't think anyone with a Mogul really cares how loud a Treo with VC is, so please stop suggesting that we swap our Moguls for Treos......

Lets stay on topic please, no more Treo suggestions or the post will be removed. Lets move forward with the solutions that work on the Mogul. I think hippity.hoppity is trying to help maybe hippity.hoppity should contact the maker of VolumeCare and see if a Mogul compatible copy can be made, now that would be a great help

Thanks
Dave~

Already contacted and they claim to be working on a WM6-compatible version.
