If it's just water, usually the impurity content is low. If it's the sweetend iced tea, good luck. If it's unsweetend iced tea, probably ok, but you know something is making the water brown... rinse with distilled water or de-ionized water. electricity doesn't flow in de-ionized water so even when wet it shouldn't short stuff out. Water itself is a horrible conductor, but add electrolytes to it and you're screwed.

True dat homie.

Cool. Hope your luck doesn't run out. If it should break, screen replacing isn't too hard.

A girl did a disassembly video on youtube. The part is pretty cheap between 30-50 on ebay.

So for those who don't have TEP and want to make their phone last until the TP3 comes out. Here's the youtube link. The video is in 3 parts. Kudoos to lovegadgets.

I've taken my mogul partially apart to see if I can fix the wifi switch and fixed the camera lens on the back housing. Still runs like before I took it apart.

Re: soaked mogul =\

Heh....the mogul disassembly is a lot simpler than the 6700 (apache) disassembly. Atleast you don't have to worry about tearing off the speaker cable (speaker attached to housing) or tearing the display/keyboard flex ribbon cable from the mobo (slide out the keyboard when you get to this step on the apache as it gives you more slack). But in any case yeah don't take it apart if you don't feel comfortable doing it.

Re: soaked mogul =\

This just happened to me, I dropped my phone into a glass of juice. I took the battery out and let it sit overnight. Turned it on in the morning and got a flickering screen, so I turned it back off. Then I took it all apart, and tried to clean as much as I could with q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Turned it on, and though the buttons were still a little sticky, it seemed much better. Unfortunately, the screen went white shortly after it booted up.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up buying a new screen, but after reading through this thread, I decided to try dunking all of the parts in rubbing alcohol anyway. I'll give it some time to dry, and update a bit later.

Re: soaked mogul =\

What about covering the phone with those little packets that are labeled "do not eat" that come with most electronics. Desiccants, I think they are called.

I think thier sole purpose in life is to dehumidify things. Maybe they will work better than rice.

those work, better imo. however, theres a higher likelihood ppl will have rice round the house than packs of what is it, silica?

OK, a couple days later, and we're back to normal. There were a few weird moments - I tried turning my phone on last night, and it gave me the red/green/blue bars that you get while upgrading ROMs. I figured I might have to install a new ROM, but I let it sit overnight again. Worked perfectly fine this morning. I do have a few little bubbles on my screen, so I'll probably end up ordering a new one on ebay anyway, but I'm happy that I don't have to buy a new phone!
