Some over at SU seem to think its related to having a PIN set. This i know wasn't the situation for me, as i tried it right after it was done installing the extra sprint software, but they say its a fix, try just turning off the pin.

Well, mine does the same thing too. I hit the power button and it goes back to the today screen. Going to investigate but I have a feeling it might have something to do with password timeout settings. Will report back.

It looks like when setting a password for the device it exhibits the "power on -> today screen" problem. I had to disable the "security enforcement" on our exchange server so that I could turn off the password requirement, and sure enough, I disable the password on the device, and it stays on whatever screen you're on. I turn the password on, it goes to the today screen.
Anyone else care to try it out? |

Thanks for working that out Jafar, but now for the life of me I can't locate where I turn off the PIN. Where is that again?
EDIT: Never mind, I found it, and it worked like a charm. I only set the PIN for the hell of it, it's not a priority for me, so this is great. |

I have the same issue when I have a PIN set for the phone; it always wakes up to the Today screen.
Disabling the PIN made it function as others have reported--whatever application was active will show on the screen when i press the power button to wake the phone up. |

Yea same thing here..when i have a pin set it Always Wakes up at the today screen no matter what application was last on the screen. If some one knows any fix for this other than the obvious of just turning of your pin please share with us. I mean it really doesnt bother me that much but it wld be nice to have it resolved.

yup... looks like I'm having this same problem... I just thought thats how it was. Anyone know where "Today" is in the registry?
UPDATE: after this posted to page 2 (which I some how missed). my problem was resolved by disabling the PIN, I tried both PIN and Alpha. it looks like if the timeout is set to 0 and you have to input your pin/pass every time it will return to the app you were in... but I don't want to do that every time only after several hours of inactivity. There must be something we can tweak to make this work correctly. |
