I placed my claim with Asurion on 12/29 and they told me the same thing... 7-10 business days because the Mogul was on backorder.

I received my Mogul from UPS today and Sprint agreed to refund my $50 fee because the phone was backorder.

I was offered a Touch and a Diamond but refused because of lack of a physical keyboard on either phone.

But now this refurb won't connect to my ActiveSync and it won't accept my username/password combo for my Gmail account. I don't know if those are things that could be wrong with the phone itself....Can someone help?

You guys are turning down Diamonds?!!?!? For me, I don't even use the physical keyboard on my mogul. If I was in your situations, I would take the Diamond. WAAAAYYY better than the mogul. My mogul is about to give up on me soon, its getting there. I'll try what you guys are doing and get a Diamond hopefully.

Asurion has nothing to do with Sprint. They offer insurance with Alltel too and maybe Verizon so you would just be as bad off.

I too was offered a treo 800w, Touch daimond, Touch"heck no" for my busted mogul, I called multiple time within days and spoken with different rep each time. all of them said the exact same thing as if they had a written script for people calling to have their mogul replace. the main talking point is that" the touch pro only replace itself." I call B.S" I bought my mogul without any upgrade or special offer. my main reason was for the physical keyboard. now because the mogul is currently on back order I have to pick the daimond or treo 800w. I also ask that if I am not happy with the daimond within 30 days of activation will I be able to convert back over once the mogul are back in stock? answer is NO. so if this daimond goes out in the future my replacement will be the daimond of something"close to spec" yeah right. I guess I will try out the daimond. it has to be better the this mogul whice I have to reset almost 2 times a day. and slow reaction time..

p.s after almost a year reading pot and getting software. this is my first post so please go easy on me.. lol

I'm seriously considering to do this soon.

Is it easy?

Do you call up Asurion, tell them about the problem. They offer you a diamond/treo/touch and then you choose the diamond. You pay them $50 bucks and boom. You'll soon have a diamond?

$50 bucks for a Touch Diamond is amazing.... but then you have to activate which is free and takes minutes

I mean, even if you want another Mogul, just take the Diamond, sell it for a hefty amount on Ebay/Craigslist, and then use said online tool to find someone selling a new Mogul (I got a brand new one for $175 from someone on Craigslist, shrinkwrapped and all). That way you get a new Mogul, and some cash on the side. Win-win.

sort of. you may have to take it in to a sprint service center, and have them check it out first... good luck

So I should go to a sprint store and show them the problems on my phone first?

Problems :

Some keyboard buttons are unresponsive the first few clicks
The left button on the d-pad doesn't work.
The messaging button is kind of broken.
Scratches everywhere


Are those enough excuses?

goto phoneclaim.com/sprint file the claim yourself like the phone was lost. It will tell you the mogul is out of stock. Say you dont agree to the 7-10 day wait. Call asurion tell them you are goin out of town and need your phone sooner.

They will offer a couple optinos. i went with the touch diamond. even free overnight shipping for the inconvience for having to get a new model.
