The White House now has 60 days to approve or overturn the ruling, according to the Associated Press. Qualcomm could settle the patent dispute with Broadcom or could appeal today's decision to a federal court.
... If we know washington, this wont get touched until August 6th. If there is a cease and desist order, there may be no phones shipped until this is all sorted out. |

That's what I'm saying! GSM actually has some good devices such as iPhone (i think its GSM???) and HTC Touch.
Gone are the days when Sprint actually had some good phones or PPCs. Sprint barely has two or three while AT&T has like 10 of them! I think even T-Mobile has more PDA based devices. |

The iPhone has EDGE (similar in speed to 1xRTT), so there is no problem with it. That's one of the complains people have about the iPhone - it doesn't use the newer UMTS/HSDPA system ATT is building.
The ATT UMTS/HSDPA phones use WCDMA. They will have the same ban as applies to the EVDO phones. |
