how do i open a ppc registry editor?

hi i am using sprint's htc 6900.... i did everything properly i guess.... but the 6 digit code's not matching... i tried 000000 did not work and i also tried that program which gave me 734036... that did not match either... it says that the code is invalid... any idea why its doing that, or if i am doing something wrong....

You need to run GetSPC on your PPC. 000000 is Verizon's generic code. Sprint has a unique one for each phone.

I followed all the steps in the original post and have no result. My GPS stoped being able to get a lock during a trip I took to Seattle and I have yet to be able to get it to lock at all.

Any ideas aside from a hard reset?

iv always heard sprint has really some gps out of the box. so there's no need to do the fix. something about open agps servers? so their assisted GPS works with any progam.

Well, mine stopped working before I did the fix. I only did the fix because I was no longer able to get a lock of any kind, in any program, in any location.

I'm pretty sure you can. Just use the Sprint PDE settings.

I installed this ROM. I was able to get the gps to lock, but it was very inconsistent.

Followed the instructions in the OP (except use ##3434# to get in Diag mode) and GPS was much improved. Locked in seconds. Note that you if you have ActiveSync running, you won't get the port for the pone listed in Hardware devices.

I was pretty happy, then installed some apps, including Google Maps 3.x with Lattitude and now GPS doesn't lock anymore. Not sure what I did, but I think I'll just go through the steps agina and make sure nothing got changed by installing some apps.

To have the GetSPL to work properly, you have tu write your ESN in the Input box, and then it will give you the right SPC code (6 digits).

Just found that yesterday while searching for it... Your ESN is written on the box of the cellular when you got it, and I found it in Device Information too...

Now here's my problem...

I was having a hard time getting some sats before doing the fix, now when opening the phone and using immediatly GARMIN MOBILE XT, i get 2-3 satellites fast, but I then lose them and I can't get anymore... any hint?! Followed instructions properly...
