Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

What QSPT is asking for is the SPC. Sounds like your phone isn't unlocked. I don't know if QPST will work with it until you unlock it. Once you unlock it, change the SPC to 000000, and try QPST again.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

Thanks for replying UnDeadSquirrel -- I researched unlocking and it appears it is phone specific, perhaps ROM version specific?, and somewhat risky? I didn't find anything particular to my phone. I got the phone in July 09 and I'm still under warranty so don't want to mess that up? Any specific suggestions or sw tools for this phone? Anyone help??

HTC Touch
VOGU100 from US Cellular,
ROM 3.01.573.4 -- the latest released
Radio 3.42.30 -- also the latest

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

pretty damn sure it doesnt need to be unlocked to do this.

qpst always asks for the service programming code.

verizon and alltels is 000000

getSPC is case sensitive. make sure u put it in as caps. if that doesnt work do all lowercase , i cant remember. then enter that code into qpst when u get.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

this doesnt mess up the wifi. in some cases the wifi being turned on will prevent the agps to function properly. because it uses the wifi to get the data. but agps uses both standalone gps and the cell towers to locate you. have the wifi card can 'confuse' the phone how to use the agps.

next guy,

follow the directions step by step. i dont think i say anything about active sync. disable active sync temporarily when doing this if u need to. install the drivers. put phone in diag mode, connect phone, wait 60 secs. the drivers are in the system folder i think if u need to find them manually.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

got it to work but gps still doesnt lock...ever since the registry change my phone has been sluggish....awesome...any help to get my phone back to normal would be sweet...rather not have gps than not have it and phone slow...when accessing things like messaging the little color wheel that spins flashes on and off when its processing or whatever and it will do it for 5-10 seconds....didnt do it until after i tried this

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

that sucks that ur phone is sluggish. but i can assure u it has NOTHING to do with ur registry changes. absolutly nothing. I will bet my house/car on it. all the registry does is create a few entries in the htc supl gps registry. if u think that by adding this it will slow down ur OS on ur phone then u are nuts. all of these reg entries are all ready there. it just changes the value of em. so bah.

i dont care if u use my **** or not. its there, it works. dont use it, use it. what ever. all i know is that it took my *** months to get agps to work. i figured it out. i did the research. and i shared it with yall for nothin. do what u want with it. peace.

oh and whomever said it caused the're phone to slow down. f.u. 4 posts....ha

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

I have done the whole fix and my GPS is still very weak.

I have had the problem since I got the phone. I live in Sarasota, FL and work in Ocala, FL. It seems that my GPS will not work in my hometown (Sarasota) most of the time. In Ocala, FL or anywhere outside of Sarasota it works great! I installed NFSFANS ROMs and it finally started working in Sarasota, although somewhat finicky. I installed his latest ROM and it went back to the way it was. The easy thing to do would be revert back, but I like the new features.

I installed this fix and it didn't seem to help, I had installed it before in earlier ROMs and didn't seem to help then either.

I have an Alltel TP and would just like to get this thing running.

The only correlation I can find is maybe the Roaming when I am out of town make my GPS work?
