Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

send urself a email. it will come into ur phone as a text. it is a good way of testing ur text messaging capabilites. replace the numbers with ur 10 digit phone number.

Thanks Shadow-tech, Unfortunetly It still shuts off. I have a ppc 6800. I re-flashed the phone to the offical 3.35.671.9 Alltel rom. along with the 03.37.20 radio that came along with the install. I waited till all the custimizations were complete and installed google maps. Ran the program without the GPS fix and it did not crash and reset. I then installed the enable GPS package with the 4 files provided in order and did a soft reset. then I applied your new GPS fast lockon and the regeistry edits and did a soft reset, so i wouldnt lose the registry info. I booted up google maps and I got a lock in 4-5 seconds. 1-2 mins later CRASH!!! I dont know man? maybe its the phone.

It probably is something else myamizfinezt. You probably got a program that is crashing your phone.

try the exact same thing but DONT let the carrier customization run. i use the official rom and the 3.37 radio. have since it came out. good job taking it step by step to find the problem. so yeah, hard reset again, but soft reset as soon the 'customizing phone in 3 secs' window popsup. (got to be quick about it)

forgot, make sure u *228 after a rom flash. do it from your house.

Thanks again, Well this time I reflashed the rom 3.35.671.9 with radio 03.37.20 and soft reset before the customizations. *228 option 2 from home, reboot. Installed google maps (v2.2.0.19) on device. Ran the program with the use GPS option on for 10mins. (20KB.Initializing GPS/ with retrys)...no crash. Installed the gps enable files (all four) soft reset. Made sure all the GPS settings were correct: GPS Program port-com4, GPS Hardware port-none, Baud rate-4800, Manage GPS automatically-checked and also location settings-on. soft reset. Ran Google maps, GPS option on and a lock of 6-8 sats in 30 seconds. But this time after about 2-3 mins of lock crash!!! go figure. What the HELL can it be?

Do you install any other programs? Try hard resetting (don't let customizations run) and just install Google Maps and see if it crashes. Usually it is another program.

I hard reset didn't let customizations run. no other apps just google maps. The app for google runs fine no problems. Its after I install the 4 files to enable GPS does the error occur.The 4 files to enable GPS work, I get a lock on google maps. Its 2-3 mins after I get the lock that the phone crashes and resets.

Go to the first page of this thread and try disabling the power saving in the registry. It may also be a bad flash in which case a custom ROM like Kitchen, DCD, or no2chem wouldn't hurt. I am running a lean 20273 Kitchen and it is great.
