Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon
The last couple of days the GPS hasn't worked. It shows in Google Maps that it is "seeking GPS Satellites (0)..." but not finding any. Would you suggest that I restore from the backup that I saved prior to doing this fix and trying again? I know the fix did something as I don't have to prime the GPS now.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon
This has is one of the best finds I have ever found. Thank you soooo much for your hard work and for sharing. I have never been able to lock on so many satellites before not to mention how fast it is. Again many many thanks.

Will everything go back to what I had before if I restore from Sprite Backup? When I was checking the QPST Configuration it came up with a message about my phone being locked by another program. If things will go back to what I had before I did this fix I will restore and then go through it again. I am sure that I did everything as stated on your write up but I must have missed something or else it would work. It worked great the first couple of days. Thanks for your help so far. |

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon
as far as I know the settings in QPST will not be cleared out by anything other then QPST itself.
the registry settings can/will be reset if u hard reset or use a backup application. could u post a screen shot of the error you received regarding the 'phone locked by another program' ? that is a new one to me and would like to see it. if u followed my direction properly the 1st time then u should have a backup of the original settings from qpst. it was created when we clicked 'read from phone' then 'save to file...' if u want u can load that file back onto ur phone using qpst. but i dont think u need to do this. nor would i recommend it. dont mess around with qpst too much. ur problem is most likely something else. Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon
that is going to be ur problem right there.
something I have noticed. sometimes in qpst if u enter all the settings in the gpsone tab, then go to a different tab, then go back to gpsone, the settings are gone. u need to make sure u 'write to phone' while still in the gpsone tab. |
This post has been thanked 1 times. |

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon
Does anyone know if there are are PDE information available for Bell? Those Blackberries that include GPS must have some way of helping them lock faster.
I don't imagine that it's possible for me, as a Bell user, to use another provider's, say Telus's (which likely use the same towers) PDE servers, is it? |
