Re: MetroPCS Web and MMS on PPC-6800

blah, totally off topic but how is the Garmin XT? My newest issue is that I can't seem to get the GPS going on either phone. Before I flashed it over to the WM 6.1 I used to use the GPS with Google Maps all the time now I got nothing. Wondering if its just the software and Garmin XT works ok? Although, after looking at that I'll be darned if I'm going to give up my 2gb flash card for their stupid 'gotta use our card' software.

Also, if you have so many moguls that are working and not working, could you perhaps export the full registry from one of each and do a difference comparison and see if that reveals anything? It could be time consuming I know, if you want to send them to me I'll be happy to do the leg work on it
are you using the xv6700 vzw cab that i have posted

Re: MetroPCS Web and MMS on PPC-6800

No I'm using the sprint one that demon posted. I tried the xv6700 cab you posted and I was not able to get sending working, although I never tested receiving as I moved on to other versions after that although I should have tested that for receiving before posting its not working. I'll give that a shot and post back here.

Re: MetroPCS Web and MMS on PPC-6800

I'm having troubles with just getting the internet working, and could use a bit of help. Text messages, and calls work fine though.

It tries to connect then it says:
"Dialed: #777
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer's documentation and try again."

Now my settings are like this:
Username: <my10digit#>@mymetropcs.com
Password: mymetropcs (have also tried metropcs, and leaving it blank)
Domain: Blank

(However whenever I go to check the settings, it clears them all, not sure if it's not saving or it does that for security reasons.)

Proxy Settings:
Checked the first two boxes
Proxy Server: wap.metropcs.net (this seems to clear itself every time I come back to it)
--HTTP: wap.metropocs.net:3128 (clears itself to empty)
--WAP: wap.metropcs.net:3128 (clears itself to: 206.47.78.149:80)
--Secure WAP: wap.metropcs.net:443
--Socks: wap.metropcs.net:3128
With no passwords / usernames entered in any of those advanced settings.

Also within the ESPT I founda few reminents of my Sprint PCS in there

Security Tab:
HDR AN AUTH User Id(Long)
*Old ESN*@hcm.sprintpcs.com

M.IP Default Profile Tab:
NAI: *OLD ESN*@hcm.sprintpcs.com

M.IP Customer Profile Tab:
NAI: *SprintPCSusername*@sprintpcs.com

I disabled both of the M.IP Profiles, and still put in my10digit#@mymetropcs.com.

So can anyone confirm or deny any of these settings?

Edit: Coming along, got SSL net (https) working, but the regular doesn't want to give in yet... I think I have the correct proxy settings, but still playing around

Re: MetroPCS Web and MMS on PPC-6800

demon was kind enough to hold my hand through the process so I'll basically repost his instructions to me with a few modifications here and there but I take no credit for this info as it was others before me that came up with this info.

This assumes you are using the SPRINT Mogul PPC-6800, other 6800 models may vary:

1: Check your Windows\startup folder for "HTC_CM_Guardian.lnk", which is a shortcut to Windows\HTC_CM_Guardian.exe. If the shortcut exists delete it. If not then you probably have a newer Sprint ROM which doesn't have the shortcut to launch that application. It is still launching it in some other way however and I have not been able to figure it out from searching forums and the web. The general consensus is to replace the file with a dummy file that I've attached (extract from the zip). Download the attached file and replace "Windows\HTC_CM_Guardian.exe" with the dummy file which will prevent it from running.

NOTE: This file is what resets your Sprint connection to its default settings despite editing these settings. Disabling this file by deleting or replacing it is critical. You may need to use a program such as Resco File Explorer or another File Explorer utility to overwrite/delete/rename Read-Only or ROM files.

2: Rename the following files and folders:

Windows\iota.exe ---> windows\iotaOLD.exe
Windows\iotaconf.txt ---> windows\iotaconfgOLD.txt
Program Files\IOTA ---> Program Files\IOTAOLD

NOTE: renaming the IOTA folder is probably all that is needed however I found the files as well and renamed them for good measure and haven't had a problem.

3: Open your phone and enter ##778#, select "EDIT" and enter your unlock code.

4: Set the following values:

M.IP Settings:
MIP_MODE = Simple IP Only

M.IP Default Profile:
NAI = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
Home Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Primary HA Adress = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)
Secondary HA Address = 0.0.0.0 (just delete the values and save)

Security:
HDR AN AUTH User Id = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
PPP USER ID = yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
PPP PASSWORD = metropcs

5: Goto Connections and delete any existing connections and setup a new one using the following settings:

Number to dail = #777
Username: yourtendigitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com
Password: metropcs
Domain: (Leave Blank)

Select Proxy Settings and enter the following values:
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (http)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:443 (secure wap)
wap.metropcs.net port:3128 (socks)

6: Back in the "Connections" screen where you have two tabs at the bottom of the screen of "Tasks" and "Advanced", go to Advanced, click on "Select Networks" and select the name of the connection you just setup.

Example if you leave as Sprint then choose that one as your internet conection and do it for both settings.
Attached Files
File Type: zip HTC_CM_Guardian.zip (7.0 KB, 188 views) Click for barcode!
