Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
That's weird. Even deleting all connections and starting a new one from scratch? try creating a new one under "my work network" and set as your default

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Well I tried that, but it keeps going back to "CDMA Network"... I even deleted that network...
Even when I tell opera to use "My work network" I see the "CDMA network" connecting bubble. |

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Hello everyone. I have been reading for a few days trying to follow all the steps to get my HTC Mogul to the Metro PCS network. I am currently using a Samsung A640 that I got metro flashed. I have changed all of the steps like the IOTA files as well as the MIP and Security.
The issue I have and I may have overlooked this along the way is that I am not seeing the exact point in the thread where is say perform these steps in order to make and receive calls. All I know is the people in the Metro PCS store put up a stone wall when I brought the mogul in to add the ESN number. Can some one assist me with this issue where I can make and receive calls. Thanks Noob ![]() ![]()

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
Soljastank; the reason you seem to be missing that critical step where your mogul rings when someone dials your metropcs number isn't a coincidence.
And I'm hoping I don't get banned for simply explaining why. The stone wall you ran into at the MetroPCS store, and the high price you'll run into trying to get it done on the street ($75 to $150), is because Metro does NOT allow pdas/smart phones on their network (as of the date of this posting) *there's this Nokia that's actually a smartphone that is a verified exception. So to get right down to it. It SEEMS like you're overlooking the 'exact point'; because it is ILLEGAL. It is a violation of Federal Law (and maybe some state laws too) to make that Mogul work on MetroPCS the way most (if not all) of us are currently doing it (I don't have a mogul I have a Sprint Touch). What happens if you can find someone to do it for you or figure out how to get it done is this: You have a plain jane MetroPCS phone; we'll call that a toyota celica. You also have ritzy-bells&whistles CDMA phone ala your Mogul; lets say that's a Cadillac Escalade. (here come the illegal part) The Celica's vechicle id number (VIN) is copied onto the Escalade. So the Escalade 'registers' as the Celica. Of course this is VERY illegal. And right now that's the only avenue available to have your Mogul fully functioning on Metro's network... Don't let anyone tell you different. The dead give away that something is fishy is once you get your mogul on Metro's network.. The Celica AND the Escalade will ring at the SAME TIME and receive the same text messages. Of course there's a word for this proceedure I've avoided plainly saying. Because I don't think I can even say the word. Alot of forums will kick you out for saying bad-words (Kinda makes me think of the late George Carlin). So good luck Last edited by xtremelydeep; 10-17-2008 at 02:55 AM. |

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
xtremelydeep,
I thank you for timely response. The issue that I have is that I am aware of the legality of the cloning of the phones as it has been noted on the site on many occasions. I have my mogul on sprint now and I have a metro pcs account as well. If I can eliminate the $110 that I am giving sprint each and every month just by changing a few things in my Mogul I will take that road. As I have stated I am a noobie to all of this flashing and changing of specs on a phone. The question that I poise to you as well as everyone on this forum is that you have a thread titled "Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs", but when others ask how the phone was added to Metro PCS no one clearly explains how it was done. I thought forums were to help share the knowledge not supress it. Like I said i am new to this enviroment but I am not sure why everyone does not want this phone on Metro PCS. |

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
***UPDATE***
I have nor driven to multiple Metro PCS locations and I have gotten shot down each and every time. Can anyone help me get through this issue of adding the ESN?

Re: Sprint PPC6800 Successfully flashed to Metropcs
I have the phone working but each time I dial I get a message saying "American Roaming Network". I read someone else was having a similar issue. Has anyone figured this out?
