(I have never dealt with the insurance only the store and have received many new phones in the box.) Call Assurion and file a claim for damaged phone. When I did this last time they were going to send out a refurb phone. I insisted that I get a New phone since I have had issues with refurb phones in the past. (You can insist in the store also....I have done it) This was true, but they are only obligated to send a new phone if a refurb is not available. (True) If you stick to your guns, you'll get a new one. (True) The old phone needs to be flashed back to a sprint ROM since it has to be returned. If you dont return it they will bill your account $200 equipment fee. Good luck,........I work for Sprint customer care and have been thru this a 1000 times. This is your best route.

See above in yellow....

That's weird, are you sure you can't add it? I had my Moto Q for about 3-4 months before I called up Sprint and asked one of the reps if they could add on the equipment insurance. She was more than happy to. I'd call and check again.

I was thinking about getting rid of the insurance when I got my Mogul, but I kept it just in case. Besides, I can't complain about price considering I have a SERO plan. :D

What can I do to get a new Mogul without paying full price?

Agreed you should still be able to add it.....call *2 and tell em you want to add the insurance...

Really? Is Sprint Customer Service open on the weekends? I will give this a try when I can. Also, I've heard there's a $4 and $7 insurance plan. Which one should I get?

My local sprint store is much more helpful than the *2 customer service and as long as there aren't many jackasses working they should be happy to help you. Acouple of weeks ago, I took in my beat up 6700, I bought off ebay, because of a loose charging port. I cameback 1 hour later and they upgraded me to a brand new Mogul free of charge.

I would just go in,explain the "problem" (i.e loose usb port, keyboard defects, bad screen, etc..) and they should try to help you out. Employees will usually look out for you because they understand how cellphones/companies can be a pain... unless you're being an *** or they're having a bad day.lol

I have the $7 insurance plan. It covers pretty much everything, even in-store repair and all that good stuff.

Yes the $7 plan is better , if you get the phone wet or you lost the phone and more it covers !!

I got a new one by finding dead pixels on my screen. Load a completely black image in fullscreen mode and see if there are any dead or stuck pixels that show instead of the black. I don't think my sprint people even knew what a dead pixel was.
