Re: Lost Text Message Notification
Did you install Opera 9.5 on your phone? I think there is a bug in there that messes up text notifications. You can go into settings and change it back but as soon as you use Opera it turns them off again.

Re: Lost Text Message Notification
no....that wasn't it. only new thing i put on was the new Pocket cm 0.25b version. took off .24 version then put .25b version. at first i still got the sound notification. then i put a .ini settings file and then noticed after that no sound notification. but i also took .25b off and still no notification. since then, i've re-installed .25b with no .ini and still no sound notification

Re: Lost Text Message Notification
I know this thread is old but it is the only relevant one that applies to my situation.
Fresh Bell 6.1 ROM install. Had it about a week. Google Maps, Opera Mini 4.1, and TCPMPm SPB Full Screen, and Pocket RAR were all that was installed. PHM Registry Editor was installed for getting rid of Threaded SMS. I DID loose all sound with SRS WOW, but after i un installed it everything worked. It sort of happened out of no where. I powered on the phone and then noticed I didn't get any text / email message notifications (it was my birthday, and I was getting 100 messages). MSN still makes sounds, and SMS SENDING still does sound and a Pop-Up. I am out of town for a few weeks so a hard reset is out of the question until I get back. |

Sure enough, it was because I removed Outlook E-Mail from my registry!!!! I added it back in (by exporting the key from another Windows Mobile device), and now I've got all my text message notifications back!!! Stick the following text into a text file and save it with a .reg extension (e.g. call it "ActiveSync.reg"). Transfer it to your phone, then open it with your choice of file manager to import it into your registry. Reset your phone and you should be good to go. Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\ActiveSync] "FriendlyName"="Outlook E-mail" "UserCannotCreate"=dword:00000001 "DLL"="syncmgr.dll" "Name"="ActiveSync" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\ActiveSync\MsgClasses] "IPM.Note"=dword:00000001 Last edited by miles_prower; 10-10-2008 at 03:07 AM. |

Re: Lost Text Message Notification
Hey guys I've been having a similar issue for a while now. I can't find a pattern for when it will wipe out my notification settings. After reading through this thread I decided to try opening Opera 9.5 build 1660 to see if that would clear my settings, but it did not. Then I tried PocketCM 0.25c to see if that would clear them, since I already suspect PCM Contacts, but it too, did not clear them. I'm at a loss as to why my notification settings keep getting cleared out and it's extremely frustrating.
If someone can help or steer me in the right direction, I would love to know. ![]() Sprint Official 6.1 ROM SPB Mobile Shell 6.1 w/one of Gsmarts themes Thx Smart ![]() S2U2 S2V S2P PocketCM Contacts .25c Opera 9.5 build 1660 Skyfire 8 LiveSearch Fast Boot Autoinstall Oh, and running the SPBWatcher Today Page Plug in I hope someone has a solution for this, cause it's driving me nuts... Thanks in advance... |

Re: Lost Text Message Notification
Okay, I think I figured out which app was wiping out my notification settings. I have an application called Game Tracker, from CBS Sports, and noticed last night that every time I started that GT application it wipes out the data. That's very unfortunate, because I like that application quite a bit. Oh well, here's info on the GT app for those that might want to try it, hopefully this is just an issue with the Vogue on 6.1 s/w or something, and maybe I'll just have to go back and correct my settings after I run GT. http://www.sportsline.com/cbscollege...tmobile_iframe

Re: Lost Text Message Notification
This worked for me. I've outlined my steps on my Sprint Htc Touch (htc 6.1 rom):
1. in regedit entry KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings \SMSNoSentMsg, change DWORD data existing Decimal value=1 to 0. Perhaps for some people, if existing value=0, then change to 1. Some forums indicated value from entry SMSAvailable. But I didn't see that entry in my registry. I saw only SMSNoSentMsg under the above path. 2. Go to Start menu \ Settings: Sounds & Notifications\Sounds, check both on Programs and Notifications 3. On tab Notifications: Event\Messaging\New text message, choose an event(s) After all 3 steps, text message inbound should work. I changed the value in step 1 back to original value of 1. Sound still works. I think step 1 somehow "wakes up" the notification sound config |
