Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

I'm over on Verizon now, and reasonably happy. I just finally bought a Samsung i760 to use, so we'll see what happens there.

Currently using an LG Voyager, because they wouldnt' let me have a 6800 but that's ok, the Samsung is prettier.

Port happened as soon as I activated Verizon's phones and so far so good.

No, I bought two of them at a good deal with a rebate, but they turned out not to be what I was looking for, so we bought a Blackberry for my husband and a Samsung smartphone for me outside of Verizon and just activated them. Going to sell the Voyagers.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

Well this is just stupid. I went to a Qwest Kiosk the other day and they told me the same thing, that my mogul is equal to a verizon enV 2 and a blackberry. I don't think so.

Its possible to keep my phone and switch over to verizon, right? Just switch the radio?

Sorry, I never did it before because when I looked into it, there was only like 1 rom for qwest and that was dcds... (That was a long time ago.) And then finally qwest and htc released that new rom w/ gps.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

It sucks that I just found this forum and all of you have been going through this. I have been fighting this battle for a couple of months now, and finally got it resolved. I have had a PPC6700 with Qwest for the longest time (this thing has been flashed so many times, I'm suprised it still works). When the transition to Verizon was announced, I was told that it was either an LG EV2 or Blackberry Curve. Neither of these are PPC replacements!

Anyway, I had obtained a phone number with the Qwest wireless transition group back in September. They take requests from customer on the basis that a "windows mobile device is necessary" and a Blackberry or LG EN2 was not suitable. I, along with about six other people that I know, were placed on a waiting list until they could figure out how to work out the details.

Long story short, I just received a Verizon XV6800 2 days ago for free as a replacement to my PPC6700 from Qwest. They are replacing Qwest Pocket PC as a "customer care issue". And yes, the 6 other people that I know are receiving their phones this week as well.

Sorry for the teaser, but when I get back to the office in the morning, I will post that phone number to the wireless transition team. I hope they are still taking requests for all of you!

Awesome! Thanks so much!

One ? though, is it a brand new or a refurbished 6800?

Guess it wouldn't matter. And do you trade phones for it?

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

i just found this forum. i am extremely frustrated with qwest. while i am not a "pocket" pc user, i am having some of the same issues with qwest and the migration.

they are not offering me an equivalent phone. i bought a $250 phone, paid $90 with a 2-year contract. my contract does not end until april 2010! I was expecting the phone was worth the $90 i paid as i would have it for at least a couple years. if i had known about the migration, i would have opted for the free or cheap phone. the one i have is a rugged shock-free, dust free, etc. phone that need for outdoor work i do.

they are telling me that essentially i will have to dump my phone in jan/feb when qwest cell phone no longer work, that i will have to pay for the equivalent phone, and that if i want out earlier, e.g. i will have to pay the $200 ETF. They are not honoring the 2-year commitment. Can i charge them $200? I would like a refund on my phone or at least partial refund, and waive of my ETF fee so i can move to a provider that i choose at a time that is convenient for ME. I don't want to go with Verizon.

My next step is to write to FCC and possibly the attorney general and local newspaper. I'm in Portland Oregon.

Does anyone have any new stories? e.g. Waives of ETFs? Frustrations with "equivalent" phone offers? I will refer the newspaper to this forum so they can read about the injustices and horrible customer service QWEST is providing.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

i will post again after i contact fcc. i too am looking toward the iphone. monthly fee is no more than i'm paying for simple talk time! it doesn't seem to matter who i talk to at customer service. they say they understand my frustration, have had other customers with similar complaints, but they offer nothing. do they not get training on customer retention? will qwest be asking for a bailout? do we really want to pay to bail them out?
