Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?
Insurance is a "no duh." I was having problems with my 6700 after about 22 months and called in and got it replaced with the Mogul for the $50 deductible (still not showing on my bill So I've paid about $150 in that time for insurance which I had never previously filed a claim with. So in essence I've had insurance for almost 2 years, got a Mogul replacement and it cost me about $200 with the deductible. More than worth it!

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?
May be a scam, but it comes in handy when **** happens. I consider the $7 I pay to be part of my cell phone bill, so when I slip and fall and break the screen on my phone (for example), I can get a new phone no problem, instead of trying to come up with money to get a new one, etc.

Sprint insurance isnt that bad a deal. The total protection is nice since all you really need to do is call them and tell them someting isnt working right and they will send you a new one really no questioned asked. Mogul screens suck so I have used it several times to get a new one once i got sick of looking at white spots on my screen. Sure I could still be on my first Mogul but I dont have to be! |

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?
insurance is a no-brainer. it is just less hassle. call the number, use your cheap backup phone if you have one if you aren't ready to pay the $50 that same day, then call them back before 90 days. $7 is not bad. if you are really cheap, just get the 4 or 3 dollar plan that covers you for repairs or for lost/stolen/water but not both.
sprint also has aaa for your car (or any vehicle you happen need help for and are standing by while making a call on your phone) for $4 a month. with locksmith and tow fees going up, it's a good thing to have. |

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?
HOOK ME UP!! even my HSA is almost 90/mo w/2500 deduct
I also noticed that nobody really mentioned the FACT that w/ ins you can walk your phone into the repair center and walk out (1-2hr later) with a working phone >=, FREE also, i'm a tool guy and my phone is #1 if i could pay homedepot $7/mo for ins on my $300 drill, I'd be a happy man. sure you can get their extended warranty, but again that implies you didn't void or lose. (ps. look for that from a retailer before the years out )

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?
If it was that easy, we wouldn't need insurance for cars, motorcycles, trucks, boats etc etc etc.
**** happens. You can't always prevent it. In other words, on a long enough timeline, it will happen to you too. |
