Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

why not have insurance? i mean i havent had to use it yet for my mogul but when i had my treo and it was the hot commodity i got 3 of them at no deductible because of the orange spot problem they had.

me personally i need insurance because some nights i wake up and i have no clue what happened the night before. haha. so 50 bucks is better than 200 on ebay anyday.

maybe if jack daniels goes out of buisness ill drop my insurance =)

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

Is this deductible an optional charge? There's a Sprint store I go to where I have never been charged for an insurance claim. I even once went to one Sprint store and they told me I would have to call some 800 number to get my phone replaced and the Sprint store i was originally referring to took care of it in 30 minutes.

What gives?

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

$7 a month and you can get a new phone every couple of years for nothing. Once they run out of refurbs make sure something happens to your phone and you get a new one for free. That's what i've done for my last 3 phones atleast. Can't beat that.

Well I paid 600 for mine when I got it in september. No deals, just bought from the store. Insurance the protection plan is well worth it for me. I've dropped my phone a ton of times. The call button didnt work anymore so I took it into a sprint store today. They tried to fix it, told me they'd order me a new phone and I could pick it up on wednesday. For free. I love it.

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

I bought my mogul from telus a couple weeks ago for $200 no contract. I just called up cs and told them I wanted it, but I did not wan't to pay full retail. because I have been with them for 12 years, they said they could give me a deal. they also gave me $20 per month off my bill for the next 3 years by making servises free that I was paying for. my point is, call customer service and heckel with them. if you don't get what you are wanting, call back till someone gives it to you.

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

I never pay insurance. The phone cost me $300 and insurance would have cost just under $170 for the duration of the contract. Assuming it doesn't get totally effed up in the first year or so, I would be fine with just buying a new phone. So far I have never needed to call on an insurance policy in the 6 or 7 years I have been using cell phones. My Palm had a keyboard issue but I just voided the warranty and took it apart and fixed the thing. Maybe I'm pressing my luck but I feel weird paying another $170 to insure something I just shelled out $300 for.

Re: Why do I pay sprint for insurance?!?

I am not normally an insurance or service plan kinda person but I sprung for it on my mogul. I figured that the SERO was such a good deal that 7 bucks was an okay addon. I have had my Mogul replaced 5 times do to the white spots issue on the screen with my last brand new mogul arriving just 2 days ago. It has been worth it for me.

But I mean dang still why do I pay them 7 a month then?
If you take the phone in to a Sprint Repair Center they should replace the screw at no charge. As to the battery cover, some things are not covered by insurance; you probably pay a lot for auto insurance, but they won't replace your tires. However, you might get lucky and find a tech at the repair center who would find you an "extra" one if you ask nicely.
