Go into settings where ringtones are you should see new ringtone as default. You can change ringtones there.
Settings>Phone>Ringtones.

i see if i save it in phone memory i get the ringtone section..if i save it to the storage card.

ok i'm talking bout the event section.. when i save a downloaded sound or something..i want to add it as a default to lets say *text message* instead of the ones they have stored on already.

to aaaign ringtones for text messages..u have to covert the mp3's to wav files..thats how i got mines to work! yeeeeap

Trag, this is what you do, you copy what ever audio file you want and go to File Explorer then you select My Device, then click on the folder Windows, then you paste the music file here under this directory and go back to your settings, then check sounds & notifications, then click on notifications and as you select different "events" like voice mail and text messaging as you scroll through the sounds you will see whatever sound files that you copied to the windows directory in addition to the factory sounds on there. There you go, hope I explained it well enough!
