This is how i solved the problem i download a freeware mp3. to wav. program its very easy. (if anyone wants it like me know). You convert the song, sound, noise. you want to wave. then open ur sound record which is in all cpu. hit file then open the song u download to a wav. and you trim the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 sec. section you want. Then save it. ow u can upload it into ur phone and when u get a text or voicemail the sound is only however long you trimmed it to be.

Re: Assiging downloaded ringtones

I am trying to figure out how to assign a different sound for the message sent. It comes up with the piano sound. Seems like that's the only one that I have not found how to change. If any one knows how to do this, please let me know. Thanks for your time.

Either im confused or ur confused. The piano sound only shows up on the slider sound option, not on the sounds and notifications.

You have to find a ringtone editor or some type of audio editor that will allow you to cut the length of the song.

Well if you want a sound for it im sure you can find the registry for it, just like you can change the sound the phone plays when you shut the radio off or turn in on. I have mine set so it doesnt show or play any type of notification wheni send a text message. I used the Triangle PPC 6800 Hacks Program to do that.

Re: Assiging downloaded ringtones

As far as where you have to place the file, i have wavs on my storage card and they show up on the list to change. I use the ATT Text to Speech website to make my own Text and Voicemail Notification files
