Re: Battery Life nochem or dcd

I have DCD's ROM and a 3200 mAH battery (from Seidio) and 5 minutes after I take it off charge, it reads 96% without even using the phone at all!

With light usage, AND plugging it in when I'm in the car between stops, my battery will be almost dead when I get home! I don't use wireless sync or push email. Also, I did install cody's performance/battery cab.

Somthing is KILLING my battery...

I'm pretty sure they all do that. Mine has done it with nuerom, DCD, and I'm pretty sure the stock rom would too if it showed the battery in 1% increments.

As far as your other problems, it may just be a bad battery, or poor signal coverage. Are you inside constantly where you have poor signal?

Re: Battery Life nochem or dcd

I am inside most all the time. I am a self-employed Network Engineer and I travel around a lot. When I travel, I have the phone plugged in the car. Sometimes, when I have my laptop on, at a client's office, I have my phone plugged into the usb port on my laptop. I am a heavy user, but I charge it frequently throughout the day.

It's getting old...

USB charging is a very slow trickle charge, FYI. Nothing like the wall charger.

How do you have your roaming setting set? If it is set to Automatic and you have no need to roam, change it to Sprint Only. You will notice a huge difference in batt life, especially if you live in a highly populated cell phone tower area (cities).

Under Settings->Phone->services->Roaming.

Bluetooth, keep that off if you are not using it.

If your screen's brightness is pretty high, see about turning it as low as you can stand.

If you don't use it for GPS, turn location off, in the same place as you would find Roaming.

(I know you have probably tried some of this tips, but I wanted to make a decent list for you and other's benefits.)

With the HTC Extended battery and these tips, I can make it *almost* two full days WITH push email, occasional bluetooth, decent amount of talk and plenty of texting and web usage with NO car charging or charging thru out the day.

Past that, you may just have a bad battery. I know the adapter my Sprint store's batt tester fits the HTC extended battery, but not sure about Seidos. You might see if your local sprint service center can test it and send that bad boy back if it has too high of cell resistance.

(Also as far as the 96% off the charger, that is a fault with the battery drive that no2chem designed that DCD's rom is using. When it reads by single digits of percentage, it isn't always 100% accurate.)

Re: Battery Life nochem or dcd

Thanks for your tips. I already have most of that set already. I use Verizon and it doesn't have a "roaming" setting. Other than that, the rest are set. I use Bluetooth heavily and leave it on.
