Re: opera mini freezes my mogul after new rom update

I've been launching through the Java shortcut, which says it's using Jbed FastDAC 20071130.4.1. I don't know if uninstalling and re-installing Opera Mini fixed it, or if it wasn't REALLY freezing and I thought it was, but I have noticed that where the entire phone was locking up before, now only the application is pausing for a few seconds, then carries on OK. Point is, Jbed working good for me, so thank you.

Re: opera mini freezes my mogul after new rom update

i would like to try to open opera mini through a shortcut but i cant get the shortcut to work. i followed this link

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...pera+mini+icon and

replacing

"\Windows\jeodek.exe" -run s2_?\Storage Card\My Documents\OperaIcon.dll,0

with

"\Windows\jbed.exe" -run s2_?\Storage Card\My Documents\OperaIcon.dll,0

but i get an error message: the file 'jbed' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be be found.

when i open the main Java application i do see something about Jbed 20071130 so i know its installed

any suggestions to make opera mini icon work with new jbed?

Open the shortcut for java and make sure that it points to \windows\jbed.exe
It sound like it just cant find jbed.exe

After opening the main Java application click on menu and then about. Your screen should say something about Jbed.
I uploaded another Java handler in this thread
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...16&postcount=2
I'dl ike to update that I'm now using the above Java handler and I haven't had the phone or program freeze on me. It's only been an hour of usage, but before it would freeze much sooner than that.

Some PROS about using this Java handler:
-faster
-smoother
-takes up whole screen (making everything bigger)
-End call key doesn't exit the program
-switching from landscape to portrait is quicker and doens't result in an error

CONS
-Always ask to allow Net Access then gives me two options, making two extra steps to go through. Is it possible to allow permanent access to the net?
-When I resume OperaMini, it would ask me if I want to exit.

Re: opera mini freezes my mogul after new rom update

I'm having a similar problem, but I'm somewhat confused, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm running the latest stock ROM/Radio (as of 3/19/08 ). I am running jbed and Opera mini, and it's still freezing up. However, when I went in to try to use the link provided to launch Java and Opera in one click, I cannot find jbed anywhere. I see jeodek.exe in the windows dir, but not jbed. However, when I launch java and run 'About', it says I'm running jbed, NOT jeodek.

I did a 'find files' in Total Commander, and the only file names containing 'jbed' are the two install files on my storage card. If I run the installers again, it says that the old version of jbed must be uninstalled in order to install the new version (essentially just confirming that jbed has been installed).

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over? Where the heck is jbed?

And yeah, jbed and Opera Mini are crashing. Sorry for the semi thread hijack, but I discovered this problem while trying to fix the on-topic problem.

Any ideas?

Mike

newb here:
after you install java, how do you run it? How do you even verify it has been installed on your phone?

Re: opera mini freezes my mogul after new rom update

Opera Mini destroyed my Mogul. After a day or two of installation my phone started to shut off at least 5-7 times a day. Had to get it replaced.
