Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

[QUOTE=TalynOne;205576]
  • 1GB RAM, seriously, memory is cheap, enough of this bull****
  • 8GB internal storage
  • 1GHZ mobile processor (it already exists)
  • VGA resolution
  • Accelerated DirectDraw/OpenGL video drivers
  • Whatever EVDO rev or upgrade is needed so we can use data and voice at the same time.
  • Gaming D-Pad/button layout (closet I've seen/liked was Casiopeia E-125 layout)
  • Non buggy phone functions
  • Better Battery life
  • A new HTC Touch version (obviously without keyboard), but with all the above features (WiFi!)

Forget the internal storage. Remember, they add more internal storage, the price of the phone flies up and other crap gets cut. External storage is so cheap right now, its ridiculous. And its nearly impossible to add a giant screen, tons of internal memory, tons of RAM, and a hell of a lot faster processor, and get BETTER battery life. We have to try and be realistic or why not just ask for a phone which is powered by dark energy?
I want a phone that is as powerful if not more powerful that the worlds fastest super computer and i want it to be self powering so that it will never run out of juice as in a charge.

A little lighter and thinner would be killer as well, but the keyboard must remain.
Whats with not being able to play mucis with media player and taking a photo at the same time. You get an error that says something about not having enought memory. Geez my laptop has 4gb of memory which to me is low, i like memory in the range of 364 terabytes, and just run the os off the ram drive.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

The new Nvidia APX 2500 does a lot of what people have mentioned. It's an application processor that enables High Definition video and 3D user interfaces. Check out some of the features that this chip will enable cell phone manufacturers to do:
  • The industry's first HD (720p) playback and capture capability for handheld devices
  • HD Camcorder
  • HD Pictures
  • A new ultra-low-power (ULP) GeForce® core that is fully OpenGL ES 2.0 and Microsoft Direct3D® Mobile compliant and the lowest power 3D hardware solution available for acceleration of intuitive 3D user interfaces.
  • NVIDIA nPower™ technology, enabling over 10 hours of high-definition video playback and up to 100 hours of audio—more than four times the audio playback of the latest touch-screen phones.
  • The connectivity and media acceleration technologies required to enable the latest Web 2.0 applications, from effortless web browsing and social networking to GPS and mapping applications.
The cool thing about this is that the processor is going into full production by Q2 2008 and will ONLY be available on Windows Mobile Phones (WM7?) I can't wait till HTC gets their hands on one of these. The demo phone had HDMI out. I read the article on www.gangstaboogy.com and the site has pics showing some screenies of the cell chip in use.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

All I want is a 3.5mm audio jack...

I just want to be able to listen to music without having a long chain of adapter cables. Such a simple request... even the iphne has 3.5mm audio jack. You would think HTC would include such an obvious feature.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

In my last post I mentioned how it would be good to have ZERO internal storage so that everything would be programmed to be stable with the sd card. I would like to expand on that.

ROM booting from SD card. Want to use 2.08 ROM for one thing and DCD 2.3.2 for another? Get two sd cards and plug and play. All caches and programs would work from SD card because they would be tested to work from nothing else. Installing a new ROM would have zero risk. Sprint repair centers could fix customers problems easily by seeing if problem reoccurs with a stock SD card.

Any internal storage used to speed booting could act as a cache. So it could detect if the SD card was the same, good from the stored cache if so, and boot from the new card if not.

Also, this would make having two microsd slots more attractive since the cards would have more uses.

Hmmm... I like this idea. Could be a potential mod? eg. tap the pins and solder in a jack. Now where to fit it. I'd need a case to drill into so I don't mess up the original. I was looking into that black case conversion anyway.
