Re: If I have one more person ask me...
Oh my god I want to kill each and every one of them. What really pisses me off is when they start talking about all of the iPhone's "features" and I want to scream that it is not new. I have been able to browse the internet (faster w/ 3G), get directions (with GPS), take pictures (with flash), and touch my phone for much longer than the goddamn imAtool has been out. The iPhone has so much room for improvement it's ridiculous. Soon it will be so cluttered with ways of paying Apple more money for downloads it will hardly resemble a phone.

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
I have to agree with the earlier statement about Apple making technology accessible...
particularly because it's true. I remember at a party a few months ago, there was a chick who had an iPhone, had just pulled it out to get a call or text or something, and pretty much instantly everyone in the house had flocked to her to check it out. It was ridiculous. I had my Apache with me at the time... but was too drunk to care =P |

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
That was definitely the case a few months ago but as more and more people have IPhones the less wow factor they have. It was like this with V3 Razrs when they first came out. I remember the first person that had one had people playing with it and checking it out all the time. Now if you look hard they will send you $100 to take a RAZR with a two year contract.
The Iphone will never fall to that extreme because Apple is genius when it comes to their products. You never see Ipods on clearance you know why? Because they stop selling the old models once the new models become available. They bring out the latest greatest for the same price as the last models and the last models dont stick around to compete with the current stock. It is amazing how successful Apple is at doing this when all other electronics manufactures and computer manufactures really are always competing against their own stuff that is just a couple months own but still in the retail channel. Apple will continue to make the IPhone better with small refreshes, things like bigger memory (16GB is out already) and eventually a 3G radio until the IPhone 2 comes out to a bunch of fanfare again. |

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
Holy crap I know what you mean.
Back when I had a 6700, my sister came over my house to show off her iPhone that she just camped out in line for. She shows off all it's NEW features. I'm just like "uh, it LOOKS cool and all but I've had those features for like a year now." iPhone is to smartphones Like AOL is to internet services. The best HYPED, is not necessarily the best product. What's really sad is that the people asking if you have an iPhone, immediately shut down their brains once you say it's not. So there is no educating them. Show them the better features or customizations or programs you have, but it's too late. It's not an iPhone. They are done listening.

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
I definitely feel your guys' pain...I get it all the time and I don't even have the energy to explain myself half the time haha.
Having said that, there IS something really cool about those phones...big screen, no lock-ups, sweet browser, and user-friendly-ness. I reeaallly hope HTC drops a bigger screen for the next 6x00 phone. That's just common sense! They gotta keep competetive while still keeping to their roots. P.S. - Damn apple for patenting such a sweet screen technology! People always wonder why they can't unlock my S2U2 screen like the iPhone hahaa. |

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
I think those who get sooooo upset at the iphone are just plain insecure...
If you like your Mogul and prefer it over the iphone then great. I do too! But why get so bent out of shape because the iphone gets so much attention? The Mogul will NEVER be a mass appeal product, period. So just accept it and move on. |

It's not so much that the iPhone gets more attention. I like our 'secret society' we have here. It would kind of suck if EVERYONE had the Mogul. The real issue is that the 6800 is considered inferior BECAUSE it's not an iPhone (to these people). That makes us immediatly want to defend ourselves and quickly explain that the 6800 isn't a lame or cheap phone just because they have never heard of it. We are few, but we are strong. Viva Mogal! Titan power! HTC for you and me! Hail Hitle.... doh wait got carried away there. sorry. |

I could care less if people think my mogul is no more than a pad of paper. Your statement really makes you sound insecure about it.... "immediately want to defend ourselves...." |

Re: If I have one more person ask me...
True tech heads know what's what, i dont have to go in depth to explain it to them which is better and why... it's the average consumer who has no clue... the ones who buy 2.99 ringtones and the like.... i cant even bring myself to get mad at people like that... they dont equip themselves with the knowlege sometimes to make informed decisions. isnt that the american way nowadays? lol
