both tests were run back to back on the same XV6800 on the Verizon network.... The slower speed is because the test site was farther away....

There are always better networks "coming soon." Here is a review of AT&T's HSDPA network.

Here are some theoretical speeds for EVDO:
CDMA EVDO Rev 0: 2.4Mbps/155Kbps
CDMA EVDO Rev A: 3.1Mbps/1.8Mbps
CDMA EVDO Rev B: 73.5Mbps/27Mbps
CDMA EVDO Rev C: 129Mbps/75.6Mbps

Sicne your original question asked which has the fastest network, wifi is the fastest wireless network available on your phone right now.

If Rev A is Theo 3.1 Mbps/1.8 Mbps, why is no one that is who is reporting their speed getting anywhere near Theoretical like they did Rev 0? I understand these are burst numbers but Y doesn't the average go up proportionately. LOL, any Eta for Rev C here in the States? 2015? 3009?

I hit 1.7mb/sec with Rev. 0 with WifiRouter tethered to my laptop, in Long Island, NY. I've yet to tether since I have No2Chems rom. Maybe I'll do a little speed test tonight

probably never. Rev. A is not fully rolled out yet. There will probably need to be some hardware updates to be compatible with further revisions.

Don't think that GSM, GPRS will ever be as fast as a CDMA.

Speed depends on your area for sure. The problem is Verizon caps the service pretty low. Sprint does not. I get 3 meg service from my house constantly on rev a but when I go to work its more like 2 meg service. The 3g network is not even close nor will it ever be.
