you guys are all forgetting one important thing

these speeds are in KiloBits not kilobytes and there's 8 bits in a byte so the files you want to download will take about 8x longer then the "theoretical speeds" if your measuring your files in kilobytes

Sorry, but I have to call shenanigans. 1.7 is the theoretical max, it would be very difficult to hit if not impossible. That's like telling me you got 54mbps over your 802.11g network.

We aren't getting Rev C. Sprint is doing WiMax, which is faster than Rev C, instead. And last I heard, Verizon is going to a GSM technology for 3g in the future.

oh... so there's no need for rev anything. i should be able to get those speeds with 1x using opera............ crazy thing is, i wasn't getting nowhere near that speed prior to da new rom.

No, you won't get those speeds on 1x. but that doesn't mean it's the true speed. It compresses your download to send it to you faster, so on 1x you would see faster than 1x speeds.
